I do all the laundry. I actually like doing it...except for the skid marks. How nasty! I am at the point where I am going to start throwing them all away. I don't understand how men can go through life like that. Maybe it's a territorial thing?

I suspect the size of the skid marks has a direct relationship to the amount of hair a guy has on his ass divided by the frequency of showers.

My husband and oldest used to leave their dirty clothes in the bathroom or in the hallway. I finally invested in laundry hampers and they now actually put their clothes in there. I prefer to do my husband laundry because if he does it and puts his work clothes and in feels there is still room he will shove in whatever else he can find then i have ruined clothes. My 9 year old however....does his own...if he wants clean clothes...he washes them...if its during the school year I do remind him but he has actually been doing a great job so far. He also fold and puts them away everytime he washes....then he gets rewards.....Like the PSP that i just bought him fo rhelping with his brothers and being a great kid.....he trys

I feel lucky to have a hubby that will help out around the house after I pitch a fit about my housework load.
I am a stay at home mom and sometimes feel overwhelmed by the amount of chores to do, I try to keep my house looking nice and my hubby complains that I don't need to have a Martha Stewart perfect home 24/7. He is right but I can't seem to stop myself.
We do have one agreement, that I do not- will not clean tubs, showers or toilets. They just gross me out.

kerj: I could only imagine the uproar this statement would have caused if it was said by a man! Does your husband work?
Why yes, he does. He works on the family household. He just doesn't get paid for it. He does most everything except cook.
Like most young couples, we negotiated our chores early on in the relationship. Being a WELL-USED woman, I was smart enough not to ACCEPT many chores as mine. The few he sneaked in, include cooking (he claims he can't, but I notice he comes through in a pinch), and changing out the garbage and recycle bags when he takes it out.
Machines don't replace the daily chores. Sometimes I wonder if middle-class women were better off in the past century, when the local LAUNDRY took care of the wash, not a machine. The wash came back neatly wrapped in brown paper. Sometimes I wonder if the steady stream of labor-saving devices for the home are devised by a secret cabal of chauvanists, dearly trying to keep the girl tied at home.

Who are you?
I have 2 guys in the house.....they have their work out clothing, around the house clothing, work clothes, school clothes, and just hanging out clothes!....I cannot keep up. The washer has been running for 6 hours and I'm not even close to getting to the end of their dirties!!!
Maybe you could increase your laundry days from once a month to twice a month, then maybe you would not feel so overwhelmed.

Yes, the love of my life posts an answer as if he is always out of clean towels and underwear. He was also just the recipient of a gourmet meal on the grill.......
While leaving the house 10 minutes ago, made the comment ....I just posted a joke between you and me on your laundry thread.
Sadly, his truck is gone from the driveway.......I WOULD HAVE FLATTENED HIS TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
R.(yes I still love him)....but he's gonna pay!

The erstwhile male attitude is summed up in two jokes
"I like my wife to wear white high heels so she tones in with the kitchen fittings."
"If the washing machine stops working just kick her."

Note to lurking JW wives:
Be careful!!! If you notice your hubby doing more to help around the house and be more romantic he may have started reading JWD!!
I know I did about a year ago.
Question is: If she ever wakes up to the JW fantasy world and leaves da troof, will I continue to help around the house? YES! I promise!
And I need you guys to hold me to it! OK?

the best thing about breaking up with my bf.. is no more underwear (and all other articles of clothing) to pick up.. wash.. etc..
why a man can live alone, know how to do his own laundry, iron, etc and he moves in and suddenly develops alzheimers when it comes to laundry, picking up, etc..
One of my sons just moved back in with me... he does his own laundry thank god...
