How Were Intelligent "Sisters" Treated In Your Congregation?

Elders have only one object in mind in dealing with sisters whether intelligent or not,
put them down, they are of no use whatsoever,
the intelligent sisters unfortunately realise what is happening and then suffer further humiliation,
the elders will stoop to lying about the situation if the intelligent sister appears to be gaining the upper hand.
This is from personal experience with Sister fokyc.

minimus (or is this Terry): I've seen it spelled both ways. I believe both are correct. If I'm wrong, I apologize. But you're still dead and your itty bitty self tasted like chocolate.

I can't remember any Sisters who stood out because of their intellect. (not because there weren't any, they just didn't stand out to me) However, I do remember a couple of extremely opinionated ones. They had no fear of going against the grain. It was talked about for months when one went against something that was put up for congregation vote during a business meeting, or whatever they called them. It was something petty, something to have to do with redecorating the KH I think? But she was the only one who voted against and I remember to this day everyone being so shocked by it. I didn't understand, why do they hold a vote if you can't vote "no"?

I've never seen anyone vote against a proposal put before the congregation. But in regards to the intelligent women in the congregation, it appeared that the brothers did whatever they could to "humble" them in front of the congregation if they were single but they never bothered with the married ones.

Well, we certainly were not allowed to "shine" - makes the Brothers™ look bad, dontcha know, and makes the Sisters™ look like show offs and know-it-alls.
I never noticed this practice until I was in my 20s and had moved to a new congregation: Brother WT Conductor asks question from platform. Brother Dingbat puts his hand up, gets called upon, and gets it wrong. Dead wrong. Brother WT Conductor asks the question again. Sister Scully raises her hand and is roundly ignored. Brother WT Conductor rephrases, while glaring at Sister Scully: "Would any of the Brothers like to give the answer, please?"
Brother WT Conductor pulls Sister Scully into the back room after the meeting with another Elder™ to clarify the local practice of not permitting Sisters to "correct" Brothers.

Scully- Mr. Flipper here. I do remember seeing this same thing you mentioned, sisters being ignored even though they were correct on things, but because of the massive egos of elders or brothers, the sisters opinion would be dissed. I thought it was sickening. I remember seeing an elder and his wife arguing after a meeting for service about which part of a territorry had been worked. The sister was correct, but the elder husband just would have no part of it, he insisted he was right, all the while as we the publishers stood around waiting to be assigned where to go in the territory. I opted to go on return visits and avoid the fiasco. With all the horror going on in the world, does it really matter which damned house has been worked on a street or not? I doubt it
