When I was 16 before I DA'ed myself I corrected an Elder about something and then 3 Elders took me into the back room and told me I shouldn't do that in public. I was having no part of them telling me what to do, so when my cell phone rang, I remember answering it and telling the person who was on my phone that I was in a pointless meeting. My dad was pissed, he was in the room with me and said that was disrespectful, by that time, I just didn't care and I walked out.
How Were Intelligent "Sisters" Treated In Your Congregation?

Okay as long as they didn't ask questions that the
cleaner/sweeperselders couldn't answer. In that case, they were considered spiritually weak and puffed up with pride. -

They were treated as troublemakers. The really intelligent women usually left the org. (men, too, for that matter)
Scully--your post is very typical of male behavior in the org. I simply cannot understand how a woman can put up with being considered a second class human being. They can't even pass around the microphone, for crissakes!

Brother WT Conductor pulls Sister Scully into the back room after the meeting with another Elderâ„¢ to clarify the local practice of not permitting Sisters to "correct" Brothers.
Holy crap!
I don't recall having that 'local practice' in any of the congregations I was a part of, yet I'm not surprised at what I'm reading.
If a person is wrong, then they are wrong. It shouldn't have anything to do with the genitalia that person is hiding downstairs.
But I guess pride and sexism gets in the way of some people.

Like manure most of the time.
The rest of the time they were treated like a poisonous insect.

I've got no problem with women, as long as they're kept in their place. ;-)
