If you read Genesis - Deuteronomy Terry you will see that God revealed he loves the smell of burnt flesh - 'tis a restful odor to him you know.

    Terry:

Rationally, I'm merely pointing out that every OPPORTUNITY for demonstrating something HIGHER than man's knowledge is failed time and again.

I agree, in that the very act of attempting to demonstrate or exhibit requires some small isolated and definable thing (god/deity) that can be objectively witnesses and demonstrated as higher than man's knowledge; and this must always fail as our gods and deities are merely products of the mind, as is all man's knowledge. They are one in the same. So, like a snake eating it's tail, it's doomed to failure.

This does not negate the fact that the entire universe came into being without man's knowledge. Is it so irrational then to sense there is a greater intelligence than that which our brains contain? Of course to discover such would require a looking past the confines of all mental knowledge, concepts, abstracts and gods.

Easily said, but problem is we come to identify "self" as the contents of the mind. So then there can be great inhibition to question not just our gods which have been weaved into our conceptual identity, but our entire believed construct of "self" and universe. Yet, this is the doorway, to allow conscious-awareness to nonjudgmentally and radically investigate and uncover what is false-self and false-reality that the mind has assembled. When what is false is clearly seen, what remains -- is true; and in this undeniable realization of our genuine Identity, the confusing dualities of self and universe -- ends.

    as a (first of ...)

Second of: So before to answer this question it's interesting to know before how everyone defines God ... (then you can approache their answers). I can read that a lot of you are stucked into believing that every believers believes in the kind of God defined by the WTBS (so what did you explore by now?).

That man has two natures an animal and a spiritual nature and the two are in conflict. The spiritual nature is the only really useful one that creates civilisation and culture hence the need to sublimate the instincts to harness their energies to superior objectives beyond their own limited ones.

It was a message well received by many in a world where spiritual life was engulfed by animalistic sensuality many people wanted to be freed from the slavery of sexual passions.

The whole "world being round thing has been debunked for thousands of years. Actually, for one, the church used to use the scripture in question, in Isaiah, to prove that the world is FLAT! That's right FLAT. It was suppoed to be a flat circle. The other thing is that it is a MYTH that ancient peoples believed that the world is flat. Most cultures knew from ancient times that the world was a sphere. It was only SOME cultures, particularly European cultures that thought the world was flat, and these people got their belief from non other than THE BIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Summerian, Egytian and many other cultures had a tradition of a spherical earth and moon etc.

Yes, "The God of the Gaps" could be anywhere in the universe were there's a gap in human knowledge at this point. Two hundred years ago He could have been in electricity. Turned out He wasn't.

What's in the Bible/Gilgamesh/enuma elish etc that humans couldn't possibly have known about? How about the orderof creation/evolution? They weren't there at the beginning so they wouldn't know.

Day 1 - Light - Big Bang (note that there was evening and morning... ie the light came from the dark)

Day 2 - waters above and below - atmosphere to support life 'above' and primeval (?) soup 'below'.

Day 3 - Dry Land and vegetation (I'm thinking rainforest climate here!).

Day 4 - Sun and moon appear due to development of cloud system and possibly removal of other gases/dust left in higher stratosphere by the big bang which blocked out the heavenly bodies.

Day 5 - fish (some of which evolved into amphibious animals) and birds

Day 6 - Land animals - then man (evolution!)

(so day 2, 5&6 - amoeba/single cells-fish-amphibians-reptiles-birds-land animals-later including humans - is that the right order? And YES you can stick some dinosaurs in there somewhere if you like!

Day 7 - Need for rest. I don't have any links to hand but some scientists have agreed in the last year at least, that the human body is 'programmed' for one day of rest per week.

Adam & Eve and 'the fall' - development of human awareness/consciousness - whatever you wanna call it.

Establishment and development of larger 'civilizations'/cities

Increase in crime and lawlessness - is there a higher crime rate per head of population in more densely populated areas? (I don't know)

I'm sure you'll still come up with some wondrous reason as to why my answer is a pile of shyte though...
