Hello Mary, I keep forgetting that Jesus came in 1914. I guess because I have always been too shocked about their 1955 WT that say that Jesus came in 1918 to throw out Food From Demons.

As far as I am concerned it over rides 1914 because Jehovah Witnesses had to eat partake food from demons. That is what the entire bible is about staying faithful to Jehovah God. How is staying fairthful eating food from demons?

I am sure your elder brother in law will have an excuse for this one. I had one elder tell me that the Isearlites had pagan gods. But they did not have the complete bible.

Next time you see them let them know that you want nothing to do with a religion that had something to do with the pagan gods of Daniels time! Should we not stay faithful like Daniel? or should we partake in from demons?. Have the Chart of Divine Plan of the Ages ready to show them the pyramid. And the 1914 doctrine where it started as well as 1915 and 1918. Times time and half of times. 31/2 years.

Ask your sister if she thinks the stones would surely cry out if it were not for Russell?

What does she think about a religion that miss uses God's name? and put it on a book called Jehovah!

How can anyone sit at those darn Revelation Its Climax Is At Hand book studies?

I've often asked her how she can possibly go knocking on peoples' doors telling them of a 'hope' that she doesn't believe is even coming in her life time.

That is another sore topic: Does she realize that when she goes door to door that she is actually spiritually marking people to rightousness?so what about everyone who does not take the magazines ? Off to judgement to Jesus Christ.

Does that sound stange to her?

Perhaps your sister and brother in law have the perfect marriage, but I think there something that wrong in love land! Perhaps you should wonder about your brother in law! He was an elder? but now he is not! where was he during your conversation? What did he think? If I missed something ignore me!

I'm considering at one point, depending on how our next conversation goes, giving her CoC to read.

I think this is a good choice also.

Does she feel the GB is the "faithful and discret slave"? If she does, then perhaps "Captives of a Concept" by Don Cameron would be a good choice.

All of this of course, after you get and read the cd fromBarbara Anderson.

It sounds to me that she is really already out mentally and just going through the motions...just doing what she's used to doing. If she doesn't believe in the 1914 deal and she lived through the 1975 thing go ahead and give her CoC.

    Mary:

I think it is the magic name of "Jehovah" that keeps them hanging on. It is psychological at this point. They refuse to believe that he would allow his name to be associated with anything false, etc. Depending on the age of the JW, they have everything to lose if they leave. So, some will hang on for dear life no matter what they hear thinking it is all a 'satanic' test. The problem I had with this logic is how could I go around knocking on doors inviting more people there when I didn't accept it all myself?

Good job Mary! Did you tell her about the UN?

She'd view that as not that earth shattering. She's alot like me (god forbid) in looks, personality and temperment and, like me, needs to see the cold, hard facts about the major stuff, like the pedophile problem and the false date setting. The UN scandal might be a bit upsetting, but it wouldn't really be enough for her to see the religion for what it really is.

I think it is the magic name of "Jehovah" that keeps them hanging on. It is psychological at this point. They refuse to believe that he would allow his name to be associated with anything false, etc.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that comment as I can see it in her eyes. Bottom line is: she believes in Jehovah and of course, has it intricintely linked in her mind with the Borganization. One other thing I forgot to mention, is that during the conversation, I made mention of the recent article in the April 15th WT about obeying the Slave which of course, I had done a summary on back in February: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/129061/1.ashx

I said to her that by what they said in that article, by their unreasonable demands that the rank and file obey THEM, no matter how many times they screw up, they were making themselves equal with Jesus Himself, which was absolutely disgusting. She reluctantly conceded that that article had bothered her too. So I'm thinking that if I can get her to see that the Slave class down at Crooklyn are no more than a dozen Grumpy Old Men, then maybe she'll see that the religion is nothing but a farce.

It seems like she has become what many, including my family, have become, in Christendom.

"There are problems in my religion. There are problems in my religion's history, but leave me alone, don't tell me, just let me go to church in peace, please".

Mary- Mr. Flipper here. First of all I want to take this opportunity to tell you, your threads are among my personal favorites of many on this board due to your real honesty and forthright way to express things. No bs, great takes! Anyway, like Jeff I feel that ex-nj-jw is dead on too, about getting your Barbara Anderson cd reading it, then let your sister read it. She has already told you that is one thing ( the child abuse settlements) that she wants clarification on. Then go with that, that is an opening for you. I would not waste my time on any other of the other subjects, it just changes the subject so much that the objective you will be after gets lost in the shuffle.

It has worked with my 80 year old mom, a jdub for 55 years, and she is listening to what I've said about the molestation settlements. Ya never know sis, it just might work. I would definitely strike while the iron is hot and blow your sisters mind with the new cd release! Just my humble opinion. Good luck to you, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
