Yes, it really happened. The Ft Lauderdale east congregation. The DF announcement was made at the end of the service meeting on July 19, 1997. The DF'd daughters names was Doris B. Her, mother, Helen, loudly gasped and sobbed when she heard her daughters name. She sobbed audibly through the song and prayer. When the prayer concluded, she was swarmed with sympathy. In a moment of poor judgement, Doris had serviced the entire Ft. Lauderdale Central High School football team, including the coach and team mascot.

If the names are real then JWD could be sued. I mean would you like your daughter youthful mistake blasted on the internet even if it was true. If it wasn't then JWD could be sued for a lot maybe even more than Simon could afford and he would shut this place down. If the names aren't and say a JW does see it what would he think? Those apostates are worse the the Elder Body that I have. Make the atleast the people anonymous the congregation name can stay. Even the last sentence for that matter can stay as long as it is anonymous though if I am pointing out it is in bad taste what does that say.

Yes, yes. 5Go. My silly post could have tragic and far reaching consequences! I'm still not sure you get it. But that's OK. Your reaction provides an insight that is consistent with most of your posts. Peace brother.

    Fleaman - Thanks....I think.

The reference to the mascot was a nice touch.

However, I find the name "Doris" to be inconsistent with the persons actions. I think you should come up with a name that is a little more Jezebelish.

    5go is so sweet.

Seriously though, I've known a DFing to divide a congregation.

Isn't that what happened with M. James Penton's congregation?

in my old cong you could cry as much as you liked and no-one would give a damn. "

I'm cracking up at that one too, how true. That's messed up.

A sense of great relief came over me when the 'elders' took it upon themselves to DF me. They decided that I wasn't repentant. The ball game was over for me then. I have NO regrets whatsoever. If anything, they did me a favor.

The organization is paying a price for this disfellowshipping practice.

I think any time we connect with people, heart-to-heart, we can be heard. Even with a Witness marinating in his cultishness. Real tears can be a victory of that connectedness.

Running man, I agree completely! How about "Sheila" or "Jackie"? suggestions?

Also, I thought about identifying a specific mascot, but then thought it would be more interesting to let the readers imagine what it was.

Hmmm, I always thought of it as a courtesy to tell the parents of an adult child that they were going to be d'fd.
