You might have a point Scully. However, for me at least, I don't disclose anything online that I wouldn't in person. ;-)

Snakes- How ya doin' bud? I agree with you, I would rather see newbies and others coming on telling their stories so we can assist them with their exit of the cult. Before Trevorgate, the last month or so we have been getting a lot of newbies posting I noticed. I even started a thread about it, all the newbies. I try to reply to them and make them feel welcome too, so they see that we all aren't wacko false impersonators !

However I feel that the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses was so tough on bedroom subjects like SEX , ( theres that magic word again), that an open frank discussion of it is merited so people can vent about things they went through and help others to see that it is a normal human function . I agree with you that human interests threads are important and sex is a part of human interest . I'm getting ready to start a thread on drugs too. Not for any vicarious thrill, but to help people see what a problem it is in society and help others see the need to avoid it. Understand that in the witnesses these things weren't discussed in great detail, but kind of swept under the rug , and just referred to in passing, so witnesses would not think TOO MUCH about these things. But part of the witnesses legacy was hiding practical information from it's members as in CULT MIND CONTROL. So I post stuff with that in mind, to try to open people up about things. If people go too far with subjects, and the thread gets locked down, I can't help it. But I'd like to believe I can trust the JWDers to express themselves in an appropriate way, at least on my threads.. Peace out, buddy, call me soon sometime. Mr. Flipper

I think the board is just fine. Life goes in cycles, so does this board.

As for the sex topics, I don't answer them, I feel like scully. If I told you about my sex life and then met you I'd be wondering what you were thinkining. And I happen to know a couple of people on this board, so the subject is very awkward.

I honestly don't know about the clique thing. Other then christian/athiest, serious/fluff people what are the cliques?

I myself am an athiest, liberal, bipolar, pollyanna who likes to write essays and throw parties. Is there a clique for me????

    changeling (I love you all)

For those of you who don't feel like they belong to any of the cliques well I've been here a long time and still can't find the right clique

I never seemed to fit in to any cliques either. I'm not surprised that I don't gravitate toward them now. Too much drama anyways.

Where is it going? It all depends on what YOU want. I'm interested in reasonable and sane topics. Humor is indeed welcomed. I stop in just to see what's new. I'm probably one of a few that has been acquainted with this org. since the late forties. I've been in and out of this org. many times and I have never regretted it. Every time I left, I learned something new. Sports and work are my main interest. Forums of this nature, especially this one, has reinforced and aided me to let go. I no longer think of my association with this org., so much so that I feel as though I'm a stranger looking in. This is a good feeling. I'll pm those that need encouragement.

I hope this board goes in the way of encouraging others. You'll always have differences of opinions, always.
