I second that...Grannies and mothers aren't in cliques...they have to keep us squabbling kids in line.

I'm glad you're here. You and I are part of the overall JWD team.In the main, we are truly concerned about the effects of WTS teaching and want to help shine light on it. I don't take the "clique" talk too seriously. I mean certain people have special friends on here, nothing wrong with that.

As far as there being a lot of fluffy/sexy threads on here, it comes and goes. When I joined in 2001, there were a lot of board wars and trolls. As a newbie, I read some of those but still there were plenty of OTHER topics to post on. I think newbies can find plenty here that will support their journey to freedom, even now when the board goes through conniption fits.

Over a year here, and there have been many newbies in that year. There were many
changes at WTS in that year. It's been pretty exciting for the most part.

We are in a temporary lull over a few issues. Bethel layoffs are long over as are the
2007 District Conventions for the most part. All the flyers that were excuses for literature
(Kingdom News, Memorial and DC invites) are history for this year. Soon they will start up
again. Dgate and Tgate are part of the lull on JWD. Also, the changes at WTS are about
finished and thoroughly discussed here. There will be a bit of excitement as the changes actually
come out. There will soon be 30 minute Public talks, a new understanding of "this generation,"
a magazine for members only, the week-long elders' school at Patterson, probably many
other hints in the new members mags.

I expect some newbies over the new light, and some elders who are sick of the indoctrination
sessions.

JWD isn't totally dull right now. Many are experiencing depression over issues and concern for
each other. Holidays are right around the corner, and more tales of how JW's are thwarting
the efforts of faders and DF'ed relatives to move on with life will come up.

So if there isn't enough happening here, enjoy the autumn and get some exercise away from
the keyboard. Read a good book and see some good films. You met some great people.
Meet some more and enjoy the company of those in your life already. Too much time on
JWD can make you go blind.

I've been here since 2002 and I've seen ups and downs and ups again. Personally, I like flux. Prevents us from becoming stagnant.

It's just a discussion board...

yes some topics hit home or make us mad or sad...

but, at the end of the day, when all is said and done, this is a place with a variety of people and

diverse opinions on every subject under the sun...

and then we click the X at the upper right hand corner and leave, & go back to real life and living.
