Well, for me...I don't feel comfortable posting, even though I do and still try. I even have trouble posting things I've researched and found interesting. The board has a feeling of "clicks". I'll post some things but even on those things I feel attacked and even an "outcast".
Since the TGate and DGate, it seems a bit worse. Maybe those "clicks" are stronger now since the TGate and DGate happened because they are in their click of people they know pretty well? Just a thought.

As for the T-gate: People here (and you know who you are) who seek a wide but shallow audience of support from many people, as opposed to a narrow but deep support of a very few people, have to consider the consequences. I think, that at some instinctual level, this is why I personally never connected with Trevor or Linda. The need for suport from a wide group on-line didn't seem quite genuine to me.

Let me be very clear:

If you are in need of support, seek out 1 or two friends who are real and can be there for you. An on-line group is once-removed from reality - if this is all you have and rely upon, seek more tangible help quickly! And, by the same token, be suspicious of anyone who seems to try to garner all their support from a discussion board! This indicates someone who is living in an alternate universe!

i will grant you that to a point bizzy bee...

i have a small circle of friends from JWD I talk to on a regular basis ...and a little bit wider circle of friends from JWD i email/talk to on occasion but wish i had more time to talk with

I am grateful to those who have reached out to me...and sorry i have not been able to call.... just glad that net is there.... a soft place to land as i leave the borg.

it takes time to develop any proper friendships...unfortunately...20+ year friendships are being flushed down the toilet all because i wont fall in lockstep with the Borg...

guess the JW friendships were a house of cards waiting to blow over....I'll be careful next time(s) to develop friendships based on not just one common thing...but several things..

thats what i am doing now...this board is just one aspect of that process...

I think your topic is appropo Snakes, and pretty correctly stated. This is a community, albeit a digital one for the most part, and communities tend to react to 'crime' in the neighborhood with general withdrawal, followed in fairly short order with an effort to relax and unwind from the tension. Some become reticient to join in for a bit, preferring to 'keep the shades drawn' for a while. But shortly, boredom with all that sets in and we all come out to play. Sometimes we unwind too much, too quickly, and the topics get a bit off color.

I was appalled with the TrevorLindaGate and the DannyGate issues. I still am. But I have noticed that aside from those sorts of issues here, that the board goes thru evolutionary phases. Personally, I find the board boring at times due to my own growth cycles. What I found interesting a few weeks ago, isn't any longer. Or it has just gotten to be an 'old hat' issue for me. There is a lot of cyclicity here due to the nature of the beast.

I did not have the time to read all the posts on this topic, so likely my comments are boring and repititious by this point also. That is just the nature of specific discussion forums methinks.

Good topic. The real madness needing to be stopped is at the local Kingdum Hall, and this board is working in that direction, one grain at a time.

I think Snakes is in a growth dynamic at this time....we have a hard time keeping up with ourselves with things "gel-ing" so quickly.

With the steep learning curve it can get a little dizzy--eee---ing.....

I agree with the first sentence...as for the second sentence...if you are implying or out right saying I should do that, hmmmm...1900+ views and nearly 5 pages of replies...
