If a child *can* be snatched from a few feet away, is it wise to let your child be hundreds of feet away from you, approaching strangers?

Ok so lets say there were other adults nearby and he got it wrong.
I'd expect you to say.....yes it is wrong to let your child be so far from you - it is wrong. Even if they are Jehovahs Witnesses that couple made a mistake letting their child be so far from them.
Would you leave your child's welfare to other adults anyway? Those other adults who may be engaged in conversation with people?

We leave our kids with other adults all the time.
Your point of the other adults in conversation... could as easily be the parents in conversation.
Do you suggest that each and every child should always be in arms reach of their parents at all times?
If you think so there'd be a lot of grandparents, aunts, uncles and close friends disappointed.

I am still waiting for her to add something positive and beneficial to the forum. So far she just looks like a bitter old woman that has no life at all and enjoys negative attention because that is all she can get for now.

And you, Rosalee, are assuming that there were other adults closer than the child's parents. You don't know that either. Her parents were quite a distance from her, (that much we do know) and if someone with bad intentions tried to snatch her, they could do nothing to stop it. Use some common sense. The child that young should not have approached an adult while being virtually alone. The child was put in a potentially dangerous position by her parents. Most jw adults are even admonished to go from door to door in twos....not alone.
You are attempting to defend the indefensible.
