Mr. Flippers Son's Witness Mother Tells Him- "We Have to Store Up Food!"

Being prepared for disaster is probably good advice to be getting-even at church/KH. In the NT, the ministry was both spiritual and physical. Caring for physical needs and being prepared is just good advice. For whatever reason. LDS folks have at least a years supply (I have been to bridal showers where food storage needs were the focus of gift giving).

Of course a JW who is prepared for short term disaster won't NEED the org to take care of them either, will they? By the time the 3 days are up, the Red CROSS or the SALVATION ARMY or the GOVERNMENT will be able to take up the slack.

The Red Cross has been saying the same thing for more than a year now. It is called Disaster Prepardness and is due to all the super storms we have had and floods in many parts of the country due to Global Warming. So the Society cannot take credit at all for forwarning people to do this.

My town has also sent out notices for the townspeople to make sure we have three days of water on hand in case of an emergency.

Again, the tower is simply repeating what the Red Cross and other agencies have been telling people to do. But the jdubs will take this advice as if the society has some inside information from Jehovah about emergencies coming and of course that is exactly what the WT wants people to think!

You know what, if your house DOESN'T have three day's worth of food in it, you probably are a loser! LOL We're always prepared at the Dork household. Always plenty of canned goods and bottled water and charcoal in case we need to cook and the electric goes out.

But where will they go away to?

When this "persecution" starts and they have to leave...where will they be going?

    Will Brooklyn put them up?

    <edited to add> from Blondie:

We are trained around here in general to prepare for tornados, having about 3 days supplies

What???? A week-end long persecution? Is that anything to be worried about?

Most of us could fast for that long. Why make a big deal for a 3 day tomato throwing event?

A few years from now in WT literature:

"A few associates of the organization chose to take this advice out of proportion, and thought they were being asked to prepare for persecution or even the Great Tribulation. Did the FDS ever say anything to this effect? No! And yet, these associates went ahead of the Organization and erroneously gave others the impression that the FDS had done so."

    I can see it now.

We are trained around here in general to prepare for tornados, having about 3 days supplies, meds, important papers, etc. in a safe place in the basement. Have a plan to meet up after such a thing or even plans if there is a fire in the house.

But long term preparation would be a really new idea for the WTS to advocate.

NATHAN NATAS- Yeah, the GB will probably tell them to drink the cool-aid first ! Then they'll all jump into the East river ! Hold your noses folks!

SIR 82- Yes. I heard that there was some instructions given about sharing their phone numbers on a list or something. Glad I got out of the org. before they did that ! I want as few as possible witnesses having my phone number !

FINALLY FREE- Yes. I agree. If we have food stuffs or not, if we are all in the same boat in a disaster, we will all be deprived anyway.

JW DAUGHTER- I agree it's good to prepare. I mean, my wife and I always have at least 3 days of food around.

LOVELY LIL- Yeah ! The society is always good at taking someone elses suggestion, running with it, then acting like they came up with the idea !

DORKTACULAR- I agree with you. My wife and I have plenty of food stored up as a normal function of life !

TULA- Yes. I agree with you. With Brooklyn going after older witnesses estates, wills, trusts, and life insurance policies and contributions, the least they can do is give all 7,000,000 witnesses a room and a good meal at Bethel if they were all put on the street ! Don't ya think?!Hey, it would be a good reason to have a record breaking crowd at an assembly ! Then they could pat themselves on the back for the wonderful provisions the slave class made ! I better stop, or I'll give them ideas here !

AWAKENED 007- Yes. They are always taking things further than they should.

BLONDIE- I agree we should all have a plan of action in a disaster or some food stored for emergencies. However to twist in the wind over it, or lose sleep by them making it something all witnesses should do, seems to excel the panic mode a bit in some witnesses who are fanatics anyway. But, I agree with you, a good idea ! Hope you are doing a bit better physically friend. Good to hear from you ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

With the cold New England winters and sometimes we get Nor'Easters here, I always keep flashlights, batteries, candles, matches, a week of extra groceries (non-perishables) and extra water and medications for my kids on hand Just in case. I remember one year, we had 4 feet of snow and I could not get my car out of it for three days. The extra supplies came in handy. Lilly

LOVELY LILL- I agree with you. My wife and I live in the mountains too, and we get snowstorms in the Sierra Nevada mountains here in winter. We keep lots of firewood for the wood stove and a good supply of food in the house
