Here is a story for ya....

When I met my hubby I had 2 little tattoo's. One on the outside of my upper leg and one on my ankle. He decieded to get the same one I have in his upper arm, then one on his chest. When his mom came to help me after the birth of Megan, she got one on her lower back. (I told her after that placement is called a "tramp-stamp"..LOL!) Then, his dad got one! Now, his mom's brother (a preacher) and his got one too!!! I don't think having tattoo's says anything about you really. It is just a little bit of personality you can see on the outside.

I say heck yea....just get something you really like!

scully: I quite agree, this would be very meaningful for me in more ways than I can describe or even fully understand at the moment.

Contradictions are always a good thing at our age. Just think how anyone that sees it will think that you are not the as straight laced as they thought. I think that tats are very sexy. JMO I would have one if I was not such a chicken.

I vote for a new tat for you.

You are absolutely NOT too old! You are never too old for a tattoo....It is so freeing and invigorating to place a tattoo of meaning on your body...I have three tattoos and am contemplating a new one that will somehow signify my two daughters. Go for it!

I've known since I was 8 years old I wanted a tattoo didn't get it till I was 44, and I would still get one now, I have always worn ankle bracelets and I am native american so when I seen the perfect ankle bracelet tattoo I knew it was the one( after much searching) and I have a discretely placed wll thought out one also.

I say if your still wearing swim suits heck yeah! go for it. never too old.

My sis-n-law says she see's a lot of patients with them and they will tell her, oh yeah my grand daughter and daughter took me and we all went together and got one! A super cool momnet they say.

I have always viewed tatoos as kinda like car bumper stickers. People must put their views on public display. Eventually the bumper stickers get old and faded.

In the case of tatoos, eventually the skin sags then maybe the tatoo will say something completely different!

I thought about mine for two years before I finally did it. I was 42/43 when I had it done. You can only see it when I'm wearing shorts. We are the same age and I know will get another one when the time is right.

    Go for it.
