I wanted, still want, a Superman tat on my right arm. Once saw a bodybuilder with one thought it was very cool. I havent' worked out for about three years now so my arms are not as big they used to be. If you're going to have a tat like this, you gotta have BIG guns.
Am I too old?

For a small, discreetly placed, tastefull tatoo?
I'm thinking of my children's initials in celtic letters intertwined, no larger than a fifty cent priece, on the left side of my upper back (shoulder). Would only be visible in a bathing suit.
I'm 48 .
What do you guys honestly think?
Too old? No I don't think so, that sounds well thought out and tasteful. I know a woman in her late 60's who just got a small rose tattoo there. -

Honestly? I don't like tatoos.

Who are you maintaining that Martha Stewart image for? Do you like hiding your wild side behind her? What are the consequences of letting your real self peek out a bit?
I suggest the consequences are minor, and the freedom to express yourself far outweighs anything else.

If I was your age, 48, I'd be putting a gun to my palette in two years.

Hey, Mincan, I hope you live to be 102 - that'll learn ya!
As far as being too old for anything....Aging can suck, none of us are getting out of here alive, so we might as well have some fun with it. Does anyone remember what that song was, Warren Zevon I think, that had some words like "I refuse to grow old gracefully, I'll be an old man screaming on the side of the road..."
There was an old man here in our small town, named Jonesy...OK he was definitely mental, had once been institutionalized. He told a friend of mine that after that experience he was going to do what he wanted, and it made people laugh so all the better. what he did was dress in all kinds of wierd bright colored clothes, walk all around downtown with his tambourine or drums and sing really loud. This is a tourist town so that made it even better watching them freak out at him and the Goth kids. He serenaded me on my birthday from the street to my 2nd story shop window. He was in his eighties when he passed.
So I plan to carry on his legacy at that time of my life. Will get Mr Flipper to join me... at any rate when he and I are really senile and incontinent we are going to move in with MINCAN! Mrs. Flipper

If you want it, get it. I have one in a similar place, but it somehow is covered by every bathing suit I have owned. Careful, if you do want it to show, make sure it isn't under where your strap will be. :)
