Help - running out of "excuses" for not attending meetings

    I agree that coming up with convincing excuses is hard work, but probably not as much hard work as developing spine so you can stand up straight and tall and lose the need for excuses.

    Thanks everyone for your comments, there's a lot to think about and I appreciate the advice.

    My best bet right now is not to rock the boat. My wife is already depressed over what I told her about the religion and I don't want to push her anymore.

    As for my relatives, most are no longer active anyway and I have their support.

    I think she has mentioned a couple of times to "interested ones" that they should call me but they never do. My telephone is the benchmark of shepherding and I

    can honestly say it has never rung for all the meetings I've missed.

    Our congregation elders have a bums on seats mentality - they don't care what you're going through, only that you're there.
