Welcome to this discussion board. The shunning thing is cruel and wrong, and the WTS leaders know that it inflicts terrible damage. Meanwhile they claim they don't break up families.

They claim disfellowshipping is to keep the congregation "clean". Well I was DF'd and I didn't deserve to be, I just got on the wrong side of the elders. DF'ing is part of the WTS agenda of total information control. Shunning keeps unfavorable information about the organization from reaching current JW's.

Never mind Rosalee. Any time someone in a sensitive situation caused by the JW's comes on board here, she butts in with her pro-organization slant. You already feel bad about all the stuff going on, and you don't need to be piled on !

This truly is the place to be lissa. I have been helped alot by the folks here. Many here have been judged unfairly by the JWs. And most of here completely disagree with shunning. It is cruel and breaks up families.

Like you said, your in-laws are the ones who will really suffer in the end. Especially when your kids start seeing it for themselves. They won't want to see them because of it.

Hang in there and please don't run off, most of us really are nice.
