Aparently the mother that helped set up the site to fool the girl who committed suicide Megan Meier, done so because her daughter and Megan had been friends at one time. I am amazed at the extent parents will go to get involved in childhood problems instead of teaching coping skills, she taught her daughter to be underhanded, and do others dirty,and lie, all the time behind a computer screen, scarey and stupid.

Megans parents are now actively working to get new laws about prtection from internet harrassment.More power to them!

i can't believe that there is not a law already......Common sense .........harrassment, fraud, impersonation. Is it because it does not specifically say on the internet......there are loopholes everywhere. No wonder we are so micromanaged.

I agree with the comment what if this was a man instead of a woman.

I would speculate that they're probably not losing a wink of sleep over it. As a matter of fact, I would guess that it probably gave them some smug satisfaction.

This girl had the perfect storm of bully-triggering traits. A desperate need to be liked. A spastic, ADD personality. Extreme sensitivity. She was a like a juicy hunk of filet mignon to the lady who set up the fake profile - too tempting to pass up.

Web 2.0 is a bullies paradise.
