Were they pretty decent men?
Liberals or extremists??
Did they try to be "good shepherds" or were they real assh@les?

The last cong. I attended were a pretty nice bunch.
Only one was what I consider overly rigid.
Most were sympathetic and approchable.
I was active for 47 years and lived in different areas so I've seen my share of wacky elders, these guys were among the best.
Leave to me to quit while I was ahead!

Most were pretty compassionate and they understood what life was all about because they had families and they were good providers financially.
The problem elders were the elders from Bethel.
They were rigid, prodominately unmarried and childless, they knew nothing about kids, teen agers or martial strife.
They ruled with an iron fist and they were very much against higher education.
Fortunately the local elders out numbered the Bethel elders, so we were consisted to be liberal by dubs standards.
Many elders I know are decent men. But more than a few are self righteous egotists.
We had one guy who was like a conspiracy nut. and he'd read a Watchtower and say there was a different tone or meaning to a point. He was The Speculator. He had his own little group of followers.
Hilarious! Just ask them a serious, thought provoking question, and you will get a laugh just from the look on their face.....oompa
I'd say they're all good elders, all yes men, but can't think out of the box, nor can they deal with unusual cases like me.
3/4 yes men and jerks
1/8 stoooopid
1/8 good hearted, caring men. They always got overruled by the jerks.

JK, does that add up to a whole? I'm mathematically impared and your choice of fractions intrigues me.

Pretty liberal but also pretty cliquey. It was weird. Sometimes they could be really cool, but a lot times I think it was just apathy. There was definitely a more liberal skew in our hall, that could be though because most of the people with money or who helped the hall out the most were not Elders or MS.
