I was told by the elders and my parents that I would never have to graduate from
high school because that end was so close. That was in the mid 1960's. Now
my children have gone thru high school and I have grandchildren in junior high.
When I remind my mother of her words she says "but just think how much closer
it is now than then." You can not reason with unreasonable people.
is this depressing or what? getting old sucks..........oompa.....take me in the saddle
i was worrying i might be getting old because i'm 20 next and heres you lot all old and wrinkly, very sorry :P
I told my daughter Melanie ,she would never go to school after kindergarten. She died at 42 after marriage ,three kids,we were waiting to walk into paradise. I think she beat me to it ,,but the one that Jesus spoke about not the WT one
Tell her about my mom, who became a witness in 1950 because they promised she would not grow old.
Today she is an 84 year old great-grandmother.
changeling
I agree, maybe by the time we are 70 or 80 my wife will finally believe that the WT org is and has been full of sh*t !
The only think that sucks is that I would have wasted a whole lifetime going to meetings a couple of times a month and not enjoying life to the fullest. Scary.
My grandparents could remember C.T. Russell. They spent their entire adult lives believing the end was less than 5 years away. They believed that all through the 20's, 30's, 40's 50's and into the 60's.
They passed away many years ago.
I'm getting depressed.
