Poor design? Everything of course does not appeal to the human eye especially when it comes to us humans. Some things yes are very ugly looking but does that mean God had nothing to do with it? I look at some things as God's way of showing us ANYTHING can be done by him. Its shows his wisdom and power..no matter how poor or ugly it looks. Some cars are made UGLY..but does that take away from the fact that some people had the idea to make it?

If you believe that we were created then logically you have to accept the fact that God was created as well and for the very same arguements you use to point to our creation.
If we could not have come about by chance then how could a being of God's supposed power and majesty? He is supposed to be so much bigger, better, more intelligent etc than anything currently in existance (that we are aware of). If he is all these things then he could NOT have come about by chance. You can't have a cake and eat it too.
This then implies that if God exists that he 1) either doesn't know how he came into being; 2) knows but can't tell us or; 3) knows but won't tell us.
If in God's defense you choose to come back and say that with God all things are possible please keep in mind that it is impossible for God to lie. Such an inherint contradiction in the nature of "God" should give all pause to consider just what they are believing in. Not that I support evolution, there are way too many holes and sketchy evidence for my taste.
All I know is that we are here. Where we came from is not important right now and it's questions like that that help to hold us back from advancing and growing as a species. Where are we going, where can we go, do we want to go there...those are the questions I feel we should be asking.

I have been exposed to a lot of theologies and some suggest that at one point god was ,get this ,bored,and decided to play hide and seek with himself and thus willed a seperation between parts of himself to be made manifest.
Hence we are all just playing a cosmic game of hide and seek and when we discover the source we realize the joke and just GET OVER IT and get on with waking up the others to this reality that is there.
Thats one idea that I've seen expressed more than once, kinda what Jesus was talking about actually , hmmm,
But this idea put forth by buhddists , jews and muslims alike , also some independant spiritualists have claimed to experienced this first hand .
Perhaps this is the "creative force" that is driving the car of this reality towards it's whatever?

I don't mean things that are ugly. You're right, just because something doesn't appeal to me doesn't mean it's poorly designed. I mean things that just ARE poorly designed. As an example, if I designed a pencil that weighed 5 pounds, that would be poor design -- it is not well suited for the purpose it's meant to serve. It might work, but it would not work as well as a lighter model.
So, do you know of anything like that in nature? Are there any designs that are obviously poor, along the lines of my 5-pound pencil?

This hinges on a belief in a god, specifically the god as drawn in the bible. I choose not to believe at this time.
