I want you with your OWN mind to give me your view instead of someone elses view

Blackboo, I challenge you to follow your own rules. BTW, Barbie Doll gave you her view and you dismissed it.

That's a really good suggestion. Blackboo, if every single time you have a thought about God or religion, you ask yourself "how do I know that" and "where did I first learn that" you will soon quickly realize that every single idea about God you have was taught to you by someone else. And everything they have told you was taught to them by someone else. Every single verse in the Bible that you believe is because someone else claims to have seen or experienced those events and told you the story of them. None of those things have you actually "experienced" for yourself.

That is the exact process by which I became an atheist, although it was unintended. I was first encouraged to use this type of questioning in science classes and nursing practice classes. Every single time I planned to take an action with a patient, I had to justify in my own mind, why I was taking this action. If it was based upon information from others, how did I know the information was accurate? How did I know whether it was from a credible source or not? What makes a source credible? Trustworthy? First I applied this type of questioning to the WTBTS and then to the Bible and then to my belief in God. I was an atheist in about two weeks time.

If you were to dismiss EVERYTHING that everyone ever told you and rely on ONLY what you have sensed and experienced in your own mind, you would not be able to reconcile a belief in God to your present and past experience. Try it. It is a mindbender for sure.

Thats what i thought and who the heck is this guy you talking about? You see you guys cant challenge me and resort to calling me something im not. The word of God and his power to give humans the gift of thought is a powerful thing. My mind is a product of God and of course you will never come up against a God given mind! Good night and please bring better challenges to my questions...but of course you will never prevail no matter what you say or think..God is the source of all truth and knowledge.

Your posts look fine NVR. In fact most here have been mostly respectful of boo. At least in my opinion.

    Enough said.

    Be well.

    Hey Vinny

    You sound a little down.

I don't want you to think you aren't welcome on the forum. You have as much right to be here disseminating your views as anyone else. And you can be sure there will always be some atheists to take exception to them! (Well, that is until Simon gets sick of the whole deal and kicks us all out!)

I believe I asked you a question a while back that you neglected to acknowledge. Here, I'll rephrase it:

You claim to believe in one Jesus of Nazareth, who descended from the line of David, who descended from the line of Abraham, who descended from Noah, who descended from Adam, the first man. Adam was created, according to the bible's own detailed chronology, around roughly 4026 BC.

Why is it that there is evidence all over the earth of human activity preceding that date? I'm not talking about hominid ancestors, but of modern tool-making pottery-glazing agriculturally-skilled humans. The dating methodologies are sound and have been verified and cross-verified by scientists for well over half a century and have been referenced against tree-ring chronologies that go back 9,000 years. That's what they call absolute dating, where scientists can count the individual rings on trees (both living and fossilized) and create a timeline.

I also asked you about Islam. What do you think of it? Muslims recognize Jesus as a prophet, and they even worship the god of the bible, except they refer to him as Al'Lah "the one true god." They say that the prophet Muhammad was directed by god to spread the true interpretation of his will. They don't view themselves as "fools" according to the scripture you cited because they actually believe in the bible and its god and, obviously, in that scripture itself.

Don't you see the path of hatred you're on? I say believe what you want, but realize that nobody, not science not religion NOBODY has a 100% answer on what happens after we die yet death is the only thing we're all 100% sure to experience. In the little time we have on this earth, why not make it a pleasant experience for everyone? Enjoy your beliefs, thrill in the experience of faith, but don't push those views on others and expect to be taken seriously.

Keep an open mind and realize that we are just specks in a vast universe.

Which God is it ok to believe in? Which one would you not call a fool? If you don't believe in the bible, you haven't been fooled.

Thanks Cog for your post, but I really am fine.

Actually will be better off just doing less JWD anyway. Work, family, life etc... all get more time.

This thread shows the total futility of there ever being a more tolerant, mutually respectful JWD. Too many new people show up with guns a blazing like Yosemite Sam!

    FROM BOTH SIDES.

Any hope of decency and overall tolerance probably involves major moderation.

A hui hou, (See you around)
