I am sort of involed with a 28yr woman who left the truth about 6 mo age. Now that she had all this time on her hand and did not know that to do with i serjested she join a gym, so she did. Well eight weeks later she has lost 14 lbs, three inches off her tommy, four inches off her hips, her ass and boobs have firmed up. Now she is a little pissed off at me becouse she now has to go out and buy new clothes. You just can not win.
FAIR WARNING to my FRIENDS~!~!~!

Way to go purps. I started weight watchers (again), right before thanks giving. Awful timing.
Hope you are successful and lose all that you want. My goal is to lose so much weight that
people say, "you are too skinny, you should eat more". Kind of doubt that will happen but it is fun to think about.
Personally, I would like to sue the Society for my weight. It was all those years of pioneering, sitting in a car thinking I was better
than everyone else, while drinking 140 ounces of Dr. Pepper a day, not to mention all the visits to Sonic, McDonalds,
Donut shops, etc.
Keep us posted. Maybe we could get a little competition going here on JWD?

Which one, the competition or the lawsuit against the Society?

Sending many sucessful vibes your way!
Besides, nothing like telling a BIG group of people that you are trying to lose weight to help keep you focused!
I started Weight Watchers 8 weeks ago and have been happy with it so far. Plus, I look at my weekly meeting as some cheap therapy for only $9.22 per week.

purps..
glad you are going to do this...you mentioned it last month when I was down....glad you are still on target....
Some who know me prob say I dont need to worry, but I do...my dad was as thin as I am...and died at age 59 at 5'4"..and over 200 pounds..I am not going down that way...of heart problems related to weight.....
I work out twice a week for an hour each time with a professional trainer..he is my motivator to stay on target.....the gym is a mile away..no excuses...its working...my body fat is headed south of 20%...BMI around 22...goal is 14-16% body fat... gaining strength I had lost after leaving UPS.....
now I am trying to eat healthier...load up on protein, cut down on the processed foods... (advice? STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING WITH HYRDOGENATED OILS..trans fats...etc....and stay away from HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP..its in everything it seems)
It is possible to buy bread that doesnt have HFCS...but it usually is twice as much...and twice as good...eating healthy can be expensive...but worth it...
when I am on target, I eat 5 meals a day starting at 7 am...big breakfast...small snack at 10...medium lunch at 1...snack at 4....big meal at dinner at 7....and then go for a walk or a bike ride after the larger meals....and maybe a small treat before bed....drink lots of water...shoot for a gallon a day.... you will lose weight...and did you talk to a doctor about your plans? (I didnt...bad snakes)
the only real way to lose weight: burn more calories through excercise than you consume.... and eat the right foods at the right times in the right amounts.
Hope it works out for you...I look forward to seeing you do this....maybe I can get a bike and come down and ride the 50 with you and RF,.....

Since March I have gone from 210 lbs, 36 inch waist, to 175 lbs, 32 inch waist.
40 lbs. Damn, I was kinda hefty.

Purps, you make it sound so exciting. Makes me want to get active. I just don't know what to do..just in stuck mode.
I've thought about some of the other posters ideas, but biking isn't for me, nor running, not a gym, and certainly not kick boxing. So what's left? Anyone else have any great ideas for a mid 40's person that never thought it would be necessary to take care of herself, 'cause she wasn't going to be around that long? I'm closer to 50 than 40 when did that happen?
Seriously I would love to hear more ideas,
and Purps, I hope you keep us posted...maybe write about it in diary form on your myspace?

Good luck Purps. Im 2 weeks after having a baby, and looking at my flabby body is so depressing. I have 2 stone to lose. Im told breastfeeding will help, but I was a bit overweight before I got pregnant, so even if I get to my pre pregnancy weight I still have some to lose.
I think cycling is the way to go - jogging is too hard on the joints and very hard to maintain. Cycling is way more knee friendly! Im gonna give it a try when I can leave the baby for longer than an hour between feeds!
