Hi, I am late but Welcome to JWD.

I left 2 months ago and haven't looked back, after a lifetime of captivity.

Celebrate everything. Life, beauty, freedom. Tell your hubby you have a handicap in the area of Holidays, let him show you the joys. My hubby is the opposite. He left 8 yrs ago, but doesn't really care about the holidays. So he says; he won best costume at our first Halloween Party. He's asking me for a budget and alone time to shop for Xmas.

My suggestion is to try all of them, and go all out next year during the ones you enjoyed the best. But most important, start family traditions, even if they aren't the standard ones. My sis-in-law and her family had all night movies on Xmas eve when their kids were young.

Leaving the WTBS is a process. I've been out about 20 years now and find I still don't get super excited over holidays. I do it for my hubby and especially for my little granddaughter.

Hi Meg. Welcome to JWD. Lots of great advice here....search your heart and mind, decide what is best for YOU and your family. Start your own traditions, of celebrating life and family. Most importantly, communicate with your husband about how you feel, especially about the holidays. You'll figure it all out together.
