Do You "Trust" The Police?

    In a word, NO.

I live in Missouri and several times there have been instances of men imposters dressed like cops, stopping women and raping them.

As for real cops, there are two reasons a person becomes a cop.

#1 the genuine wish to help people

#2 the genuine wish to bully people and push them around.

And then there are the ones who start out as #1s and turn into #2s.

Police can have any agenda they want. Even if it's a personal one. They break the law too, but they look out for their own asses. My Uncle was on the force for 35 years. If they decide they don't like you, forget about the way you think things should be. I have had enough of the police farce.

Any major corporation that is an institution will always look out for its own interests and interpret things the way they want to for their own self preservation. The witnesses are a fine example. Everyone hides behind some kind of image. With the police, its a badge. With religion its an image of piety and riteousnes. Bullshit!

I have personal friends that are policemen.

Actually I do not trust the police, Most here are full of themselves and I liken them to the BORG not able to think for themsleves.

Most here smoke dope, some do harder drugs. This I know for a fact!!!

I don't automatically believe the police any more than i would automatically believe anyone else. I've learned to always question things.

Now, if your question refers to trusting that police are more beleiveable, then the answer is no. I think police often use lies as a technique to catch criminals - and anyone who begins to justify the use of a lie loses all credibility in my view and can no longer be trusted (JWs justify lies in the same way - i.e. it's okay to lie to the world to protect the religion).

Yes I Trust our Police...they have been great in our neighborhood. They have gone beyond what they needed to do many times.

They recognize my car, and let it go if going too fast. I love the guys on our force!

I once provided the police with a tip on the condition that they preserve my anonymity. As soon as they got their conviction the cop crossed the courtroom floor and told the defendent the source of their tip. Now I laugh whenever they whine on the radio about people not coming forward with information when crimes are committed. What do they expect? I'm sure I'm not the only person they've screwed over.

My dad was a cop and a damned good one. Everything he told us not to do, he did not do. He was not a hypocrite.

tara........... those are the cops i do trust....... i know several and they stand out. but the others ive been around can rival the worst criminals...... so when i meet a good one i do trust him but the rest have to prove it to me first.

as i said before....... i give them respect from the word go....... then wait to see where its gonna go from there.

then again........... ive only ever gotten 2 speeding tickets in my life............ the rest of my encounters with police.............. besides my grandpa has been without issue.

i even got pulled over one night after a meeting............ cause my car was the same color as the drug dealers.......... my car... a dull blue 4 door caprice.......... yeah in need of paint............. no hubcaps.......... what else can i pioneer in.................. just EXACTLY what the drug dealer would want to cruse in lol............ got BOTH cops in town pulling me over in the wal mart parking lot............. i knew one of the cops tho........ used to see him in the local gun store............... has an arsenal in his trunk at all times.............. so he was like .............dudeeeeeeeee what were you doing in that apartment complex?

hell i even thanked him for trying to stop those druggies living next to my sister.

    Finally-Free,

I agree. They will promise ANYTHING to get information and then tell the crooks where they got it.

Dangerous and stupid to share info with them.

Ok I live in Los Angeles. My sister works as a civilian for the LAPD and her boyfriend is a police officer. First of all, she hates African Americans and makes it clear she does. She tells me of stories where LAPD targets African Americans. We are Latino and I point that out to her that we are minorities so why target other minorities? She cares little. I constantly hear the "N" word out of her mouth despite the fact that my wife is half African American. What concerns me the most is when she brags about situations that are covered up, and she laughs about it. It's sick and she has no humanity about it. I therefore keep a camera and a digital video recorder in my car just in case I get pulled over. Why? Once I was pulled over, the police ran to my car and pulled me out like a criminal. As I was face down on the ground with a knee to the back of my head , all I heard was where's the shit? There wasn't any. As they booked me on "possession of a controlled substance" where they did not have any. I guess I was confused with someone else but they didn't back down. $10k later in lawyer fees I was pronounced innocent on lack of evidence. The police bumped into me in the lobby at the courthouse and told me I was going to get arrested the next time I was pulled over. I told them I still have my lawyer and they laughed and walked off. My lawyer told me I'd better make sure not to get pulled over in LA for a while. How sad that I have to avoid the law.
