    BA,

Part 1 & 2 of your first pasted evidence as to evidence of the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy rely on internal Biblical "evidence" for validity. This of course is merely a long-term circular argument that has no foundation in logic, or evidence.

Part 3 & 4 of your first pasted evidence rely on personal interpretation of scripture and not on fact. This is the kind of "evidence" as you know that the WTS has used for over 140 years.

The second pasted evidence with which you hope to support your assertion that the Bible includes fulfilled prophecy again rely on internal evidence from the Bible itself for its validity and not the needed factual evidence.

As a project for you and keeping in mind your second pasting, perhaps you might list for me factual evidence that proves that Christ actually existed. If you cannot prove that Christ the Messiah existed, I am sure you can see, you whole belief system is a sham.

A wee tip. ;) Remember, the argument, "Jesus existed because the Bible says he did and the Bible is God-breathed is NOT a valid argument.

Before that however, I am interested in this comment "the Bible contains many fulfilled prophecies".

Although a bit short of a "list" this passage from Isaiah is compelling. Not quite a google mortar I hope.

EDIT: The link above does not work right, it should be Isaiah 53.

As faith (in this instance) is defined as I noted above as belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence

HS, let me add, that I think logic and material evidence can marshalled as support for an article of faith, even though they themselves might not be conclusive. If they were, it wouldn't be faith I think.

    Burn,

Regarding your cut-n-paste above. Please, for the sake of sensible debate present this evidence in your own words. I could just as easily paste numerous articles questioning the existence of one Isaiah in favor of two or even more, questioning with archeological evidence the dating of the Book of Isaiah and research that provides evidence that some parts of Isaiah were written after the event, but "link wars" are of very limited value.

So just as a favor, please supply this evidence in your words.

    Thanks again - HS

The passage noted is known as the "Suffering Servant". It has long been interpreted by Christians as being a prophesy of the coming of Jesus. As to its dating, there are copies extant that date several centuries before Christ. Anyone familiar with the story of Christ is immediately struck with its prophetic nature and fulfillment. As for commentary, it is easy enough to see what the text means by simply reading it. Would you prefer I paste it in? This is not a cut n'paste, but a direct reference to the source.

BTW, to get the full gist of the passage, you should start at Isaiah 52:13.

EDIT: HS I will be going offline soon. Please don't take this as evasion. Going into the weekend, I am not sure when or for how long I will be able be on. I hope we can pick up where we left off then.
