I was going to PM you, Shell, but decided to continue in public, because I want to bring up that I do agree with you in a way, as well. For people who have left the org and have gone through the process of finding out who they really are, no one should try to change that. But for someone who is trying to figure that out, of their own accord, and in so many ways asks for some input, who are we to deny our opinions, having been through it?
How do we learn anything? Sometimes it is by being told what others think, then it is our responsibility to decide who's we choose to take in and learn from, and which ones we do not.
To say we should not give input says that we should not do the very thing forums are for, sharing ideas and experiences as well as points of view.
As in your case, you are happy with who you are, no one should try to change it. In my case...maybe I'm not, and I appreciate the observations of some around me about changes I make. Some I do not, but who's responsibility is that to decide?
