oompa, you have a p/m
Yet another example of a deluded JW. Do they have selective memories? Not dieing in this system is the main teaching of the Watchtower. When I was growing up all the oldies would always talking about needing to hang on just a bit longer to their lives so they could walk through armageddon.
"If you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things. Why not? Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years. Of the generation that observed the beginning of the "last days" in 1914, Jesus foretold: "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." Awake!1969 May 22 p.15 |
umm, I was born in 1968---not getting any younger.
She probably does think she's helping. She doesn't realize that the religion is part of your problem.
Still pullin' for ya, oompa!
If she has been a jw for only a few yrs, she may have missed the generation hype that went on for a generation. She may be part of the new generation ;) If she's getting on your nerves, you can always tell her to stfu and stop mailing you.
S
if she is here ... there is still hope for her
I was told I would be lucky to get out of high school. I was told to wait for the new system to get married because just imagine what a perfect woman looks like, cause that's what I could have. I think that counts as saying you won't die of old age in this system.
She must be a "new" convert if she was never told she would not die. Remind her of Rutherford's speach "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" that was given in the late 20's and ask her if she thinks those who heard it weren't lied to.
changeling (a grandmother who was not supposed to go to Kindergarden)
Why do witnesses always ask if the "world" has given us anything better? If I say yes, will you leave me alone???
Why would she try to help you?...............Because..You`ve been drunk for a week.....OUTLAW
Good one Outlaw....and now I go a little liqured up to Yoga with my wife! You Canadians just are not flexible enough to give it a try.
JWFact...where did you get the 1969 Awake quote? The WT CD only goes back to 1970. Anyone know if all the old Awakes are scanned somewhere? I did find this great article about never dying that actually compares paradise to DISNEYLAND!!!! Someone who worked their wrote the article....here is a snip about not growing old:
***
g842/8p.9HowIFoundLastingHappiness***I often wondered, Wouldn’t it be nice to be invited into a land of trouble-free activity, where every day brings a joyful new encounter with life’s happy things and none of its ailments—a land where not only do you never grow old but you never have to die, where you could truly "live happily ever after"? If that were possible, how many people do you suppose would be willing to make sacrifices to get into that kind of kingdom? Would you?
The fact is, millions have already indicated their desire for such a place. Although it is still on the "drawing board," its construction is guaranteed. According to Bible prophecy, there is still a limited time to take advantage of such an offer. It is not a "Magic Kingdom." It is the earth transformed by God’s Kingdom. There, according to God’s promise, happiness truly will be forever!—Revelation 21:3, 4; Titus 1:2.
Soon the entire earth will be restored to a Paradise. Vigor and vitality will be renewed. Even the animals will no longer inspire fear or be afraid. Every waking hour will absolutely be filled with happiness and a sense of accomplishment that will bring joy to all. Does it sound like a Utopian dream? It did to me at one time..........................oompa
