mmmmmmm..........oil filters!
Well, my wife doesn't like chicken livers either... I am a liver lover, I love liver.
.....hmmmmm....muscle produces lactic acid in abundance.....still most of us love a good New York stake made of dead cow muscle.... Kidney is the filter, liver is the converter of complex molecules to simple ones, and back again...not a filter. pass me the soul food... carmel
So then more for yourself. I get all the tomatoes and brussel sprouts to myself too. Husband gets all the summer sausage. It works out well.

I love liver too (calve's liver especially). I try not to think about the filter thing...

Okay carmel,
It's a converter not a filter; I stand corrected. I was not a biology major for a reason! Still, I wouldn't eat my catalytic converter either.

That was NOT what I was expecting! I read chicken livers and went .
My mom always teases me because I refuse to put any organ meat into my turkey gravy. Whoops...they just slipped right out and down the garbage disposal!
This year, my first Tgiving, I cooked them with one of the turkeys. They were in the front not the back like the other one! No one noticed----JK!

This must be mostly a southern thing. I'm from Washington state and can't imagine eating organ meat or gizzards or stomache or whatever else. I would imagine that if you have to eat those yucky things, that using canola oil is best for your health. Cholesterol is lower in that oil. |
Southerners and southerners at heart, if chitterlings is stomach, then what is tripe? Is one from a pig and another from a cow? |
I like sweetbread, as long as it is bread, and it's sweet. Otherwise.....................
