"It was a cold bright day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen."
"WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH."
"The Ministry of Love was the really frightening one. There were no windows in it at all. It was a place impossible to enter....only by penetrating through a maze of barbed wire entanglements, steel doors and hidden machine-gun nests. Even the streets leading up its outer barriers were roamed by gorilla-faced guards in black uniforms, armed with jointed truncheons."
Ahhhhh, yes! The good old Circuit Assembly!

Also they came out and stated that you cannot have responsibilities and have a Myspace account.
I hope these "responsibilities" include field circus and the theocraptic Misery School too!
I have been hearing rumors that each congregation elder body is supposed to search Myspace for members of the congregation to keep it clean.
Elders assigned to search Myspace? Hmmm .... who's assigned to make sure they don't wander on to non-designated sites on the evil internet?

Ok so let me see if I got this right? Only elders are suppose to have internet looking for the bad ones, it's no longer the society but prefer just call it a cult, Jehovah hates Myspace, and only sisters are suppose to drink on dates. ok GOT IT

After 10 years, the WTS cannot get the rank and file to quit using the phrase, "The Society."

Someone may argue that the way the Witnesses speak about the Watch Tower Society—or more often just "the Society"—indicates that they view it as more than a legal instrument. Do they not consider it to be the final authority on matters of worship? The book Jehovah’sWitnesses—ProclaimersofGod’sKingdom clarifies this point by explaining: "When TheWatchtower [June 1, 1938] referred to ‘The Society,’ this meant, not a mere legal instrumentality, but the body of anointed Christians that had formed that legal entity and used it." The expression therefore stood for "the faithful and discreet slave." (Matthew 24:45) It is in this sense that the Witnesses generally used the term "the Society." Of course, the legal corporation and "the faithful and discreet slave" are not interchangeable terms. Directors of the Watch Tower Society are elected, whereas Witnesses who make up ‘the faithful slave’ are anointed by Jehovah’s holy spirit.

In order to avoid misunderstandings, Jehovah’s Witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves. Instead of saying, "the Society teaches," many Witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, "the Bible says" or, "I understand the Bible to teach." In this way they emphasize the personal decision that each Witness has made in accepting Bible teachings and also avoid giving the false impression that Witnesses are somehow bound to the dictates of some religious sect. Of course, suggestions as regards terminology should never become a subject of controversy. After all, terminology is of importance only to the extent that it prevents misunderstandings. Christian balance is required. The Bible admonishes us "not to fight about words." (2 Timothy 2:14, 15) The Scriptures also state this principle: "Unless you through the tongue utter speech easily understood, how will it be known what is being spoken?"—1 Corinthians 14:9. -

That's it in a nutshell. Can anybody tell me where to find the information in the new elders book about elders sinning four years ago and not being held responsible?

USof_,
There is a question box on a km in the 70's i think on the subject. It delt with an elder who has committed a df type of sin who after a year or more confesses to the elders this sin, it basically say he could keep his position and no committe need be formed.
In effect telling the elders to wait and not confess at all.

Well, sorry to yawn in the face of these unsuprising updates, but the whole obnoxious idea of berating one's fellow believers has quite an ancient heritage in "Holy" Scripture: Moses tore shreds off his own people, Isaiah, Ezekiel and company lambasted every last inch off the backsides of Jehovah's luckless Chosen Ones, and cranky old Paul lectured the newly formed congregations about their lazy, back-sliding ways.
