I just have to say that I'm so glad I didn't go this year. And I'm happy to say this is my second year in a row of not going to this 2-day assembly. My still-in-and-active wife didn't go either because of the weather (thank goodness) and because she didn't want to drive by herself or ride-share with another couple and be on their schedule. Hurray.

Just mark your myspace account to "PRIVATE". I figured that sooner or later they would start investigating that site to monitor who is or is not on it. Assholes! They need to get a life instead of trying to rule everyone elses. Kids have been on to this for longer than those stupid JW parents. I remember about 2 years ago at an assembly they mentioned **space (they wouldn't say the whole name). They talked about the danger of it and all -- most of the parents were clueless about this site as the kids sat around snickering. Laughing at how stupid the brother and their parents were just now hearing about hte site. Dummies. It makes me so mad!

Oh, those poor elders looking through all those pics of young girls on the beach, lifting shirts, etc.... yeah right, they have to go through all those to keep the cong 'clean'.

Ahhh the over-excited overseer talk. I remember one time my C.O. decided he was going to be remembered at the next convention as a latter-day Rutherford, and ended his talk by shouting "ADVERTISE ADVERTISE ADVERTISE THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Reminded me of the Nuremburg rally.

There is a question box on a km in the 70's i think on the subject. It delt with an elder who has committed a df type of sin who after a year or more confesses to the elders this sin, it basically say he could keep his position and no committee need be formed.
In effect telling the elders to wait and not confess at all.

I love the way the Watchtower quotes something it wrote earlier then asks, "What is meant by this?". It the proceeds to interpret its own utterances, thereby creating the illusion of interpreting holy scripture. A nicely controlling delusion, indeed.
Why would anyone want to confess a sin he they can sit on it for a couple of years and then not have to confess it at all? I'm only incensed that this convenient indulgence applies only to elders!
