This is where I find that all or most religions are alike. They seem to feel that they are so righteous that they can judge others. This is a hypocrisy . This is why I do not believe in religion but remain spiritual. The scriptures does not say that you have to go to church to win heaven but only believe in the Christ and repent. So I lean towards the saving grace the scriptures teach rather than the words of some man or woman's ideology.

They are arrogant. They think they have something that you do not, that you need it and regardless of your situation, you must hear it. I was speaking to one the other day who inquired about my beliefs. I told him that I viewed myself as agnostic, his reply, "Oh, I'm terribly sorry for you - have you read the Bible"! My reply, "Yes, I have. My favorite piece is where God asks the Israelites to commit genocide without conscience against the Caananites, and then tells them that they would be rewarded for such murder because they were loyal to Him". He shook his head woefully, steeped with pity for my lost Soul.
Fundies normally rely on other peoples "research" or arguments to convince you, as they have very few of their own to rely on. In fact "Critical Thinking for Fundamentalist Christians" is not a book that will ever be in print. They are not capable of critical thinking because they have pre-formed conclusions around which they must fit history, science and ethics in order for them to function theologically.
We have a few "fundies" on this Board and they can be recognized by the way they paste other peoples arguments to speak for them. When you crowbar them out of the theological corner and force them to defend their beliefs, they look like naked Eskimos in Hawaii.

Maybe because I was in a bigger "city" but when I was in Louisville I didn't have to deal with that much. Just quote random stuff from the Old Testiment, you only need to show one fundy you know the bible better than they do, then you'll be off limits to them.

There's more of a separation of church and state in the north. I don't believe that even exists down south?! Such a comment on the job wouldn't come out of someone's mouth so quickly (if at all) up here. Perhaps that is due to the number of other religions the population belongs to in addition to christianity.

Please tell us all that you have reported this behaviour to the owners of the clinic. If she is this way there is no telling just what this person is prepared to do. I would even write to a local government official as there is no telling what someone in this state of mind is capable of doing. If the owner supports this, i would run to a different clinic and explain the situation. This really frightens me . How can you trust someone like this to administer proper meds?
