The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint The title sounds intriguing. Have no clue what it's about. Sweet dreams, Thomas.

Where the Heart Is is one of my favorite movies. It spoke to me on so many levels: abuse with the ability to forgive and move on, a creative person chasing her dreams, finding a mentor in an unlikely spot, the compassion, the honesty, the undying love that he had for his Nobily. Mmmmm, what a wonderful movie. But, I don't have it or Fried Green Tomatoes. So, I need to choose one from the list. At this point, if I follow the advice of the audience, I'm going to be reading Cider House Rules.

Abandoned, if you liked the movies, you'll like the books. Where The Heart Is is true to the movie mostly, with good details. Mostly it's very uplifting to see the people rally to help the young girl, rather than judge her. I love the older Christian couple who fornicate on the kitchen table and humbly ask for forgiveness.
Fried Green Tomatoes? The author is one of my inlaws. And the book is a bit different from the movie, but very different and very entertaining.

LOL! Yeah, that's frustrating. Well, I'm going to go with the crowd. Cider House Rules it is. But I got votes for The Onion Girl and A Widow for One Year too, so I'll probably read those next. Night everyone!
