I have a suspicion and a theory that Aleman is one of us simply posting under a different avatar. Bear with me for a moment and check out the following two definitions.
- shill: Audience member who is actually planted as part of the act and who acts in a cooperative manner.
- straw man: a weak or sham argument set up to be easily refuted
Thinking as Aleman, in absence of a real and active JW -- I'll present arguments as if they were from a real active JW. I'll present them as weakly (or strongly) as most JW's present them, setting myself up as an easy target. Being such an easy target should attract like a magnet the best refutations that our JWD group has to offer. We love easy targets.
As a result, lurkers will more frequently be exposed to weak JW positions as compared to the strong rebuttals that are offered here. I'd throw in the intentionally misspelled word or two in most sentences to emphasize how so many JW's lack the basic education that was forced on them by the Society.
Thinking as Aleman, there may be better ways to do all this. That's okay but this is just one more way.
Hey, I don't have a stitch of evidence to support this theory. If I were a skilled IT person with full access to the user database I'd be tempted, out of curiosity, to take his IP number and compare it with all others to see if there is a match. If I found a match, however, I probably wouldn't reveal it out of respect to the total anonymity that the users here expect.
Of course, Aleman (or any others doing similar schemes) could thwart this by posting from some public library when using his shill identity.
Just a theory.
