I must be a real ass, cause nobody ever asks about me.

It may be that sometimes such expressions said by JW's are true. For me it was nice to see someone at the hall who hadn't been for a while. Somehow others sitting in the hall listening to the meeting was gratifying, it was as if by going to the meeting they were affirming their friendship with those in the congregation, although I know this is a sick form of friendship. If not for the meetings one would never see those who go, and if another ceased to go it would be as if he no longer existed. Seeing such at the meetings is as a resurrection from death.

I get these comments all the time. The thing that ticks me off about them is they never seem sincere. I'm convinced only one or maybe two people sincerely miss me at the Hall. And even if everyone else did, it's entirely inconsequential. When the others say it, what it really sounds like is "We don't know what's best for ourselves. You should be here at the Hall because by you not being here it makes me question why I'm here." Or, "We speak for Jehovah God. Jehovah loves you, and we do to." No they don't. They don't know me, and you can't LOVE someone you don't know.
