Yeah, my step-dad.
But it was his word against mine.
So their was nothing the poor elders could do.
Other then to warn me that I had to forgive, and not to tell anyone else about it.
I was also suppose to tell them if it happened again.
It did happen again, I told them, and there only reply was once again telling me to "let them know if it happens again".
I stopped telling them, what was the point?
Step dad is not only in good standing in his congo, he also now is one of the annointed!

Yes. I've posted the details in the past. He was 20, she was 12 (our daughter). We found out he was moving in for the "kill" before it was too late. We found a letter he wrote her that left nothing to the imagination. He laid out a plan for her to crawl out her bedroom window in the wee hours and he would be waiting for her in his car around the corner. Near the end he wrote "F--- your parents!" He was the nephew of the resident, anointed Super Elder. When I blew the lid and said I was going to the police I suddenly became the villian. I found out later that Uncle Elder made the observation to the body of elders that our 12 old daughter was mature for her age in physical development. I was told bluntly NOT to go to the cops. I went to the cops. They arrested him and ultimately he had to register as a sex offender.

A friend of mine who left about 7 years ago challenged his elder father on this point prior to him leaving. His father backed down and said that an announcement wouldn't be made if someone were reproved if no one else knew of it. He admitted to him that in fact this has actually happened in the congregation. Yet the rank and file did not know who this was. Protecting the flock hey?

Also in a neighbouring congregation, a "brother" made his 14 year old step daughter pregnant. She lost the baby, the wife forgave him - can you believe it? - they moved to another congregation and tried to get it swept under the carpet.

In 2004 we had an elder accused by a number of Sisters. The authorities got involved and he was imprisioned. However, the body were advised to back off from all judicial action while the Police took over. This was the request of the Police.
I found this hard to deal with as he was still considered a member up until he was released and even came back to the hall like normal. Went to a few book studies also.
A few months later he was eventually disfellowshipped. My question at the time was why hold off judicial action - surely Jehovahs laws are higher than secular laws? If they really believe they are Judging for Jehovah why give in to the Police when told to back off. Perhaps they dont really believe they have judicial authority over and above Caesar.
So many other brothers have stood up to the authorities and died as a result.
I dont care now anyway.

We had one. I don't know if he was messing with any of the kids in the congregation, but he messed with his own and others. He disappeared when the police came looking for him a couple years ago.

There was an Elder who used to hang out with all the little boys. He was DF and reinstated after about a year. My buddy was on the committee and he was conflicted about calling the police, he never did.

Anyway, on this thread alone, there are 12 or 13 that were known, and yet we're to believe it's "rare?
Only 2 pages, and over 20.......and thats not counting how many stilla knew of, or how many congregations he has been to!
Makes me just ill!

Well I'm sure he's not a pedophile, but there is one elder who consistently pats guys butts, I think he's a little queer, or just confused.
