Well just recently I mentioned that Darin and I were going to the Republican National Convention, as Darin was chosen as a McCain delegate.
Well guess what happened?
Apparently Former US Senator Mike Dewine of Ohio has managed to oust Darin as a delegate, and Mike Dewine (or a family member) will be taking Darin's place.
I think Darin and I both are shocked by this, but I'm actually relieved. I wasnt too excited about Minneapolis to begin with, plus Darin's vacation time is limited. We wouldnt have been able to take Darby along either.
We may still look into going, but I hear the tickets are pricey. I told Darin we ought to just plan a road trip with Darby and go out west to Texas or South Dakota this year.
Darin is now throwing his support toward Romney, and I still can't stomach the thought of voting for a Mormon.
I could still vote for McCain even though he is more left leaning, but I sure hope Huckabee can pull through.
Oh well, the Republican National Convention may be out of the plans, but at least we might get a decent road trip in this year.
Not going to the RNC convention afterall--big political wrangling

If it comes down to Mcain and HILLBILLY I'll chose McCain anyday... We will just have to pull him further to the right...

Actually the convention is in Saint Paul (the capital city of Minnesota), not Minneapolis. We're a very nice place to visit in the summer. If you had come, you would have found out.
I wonder if they'll need multiple ballots to decide the Republican nominee this year. With the 3-way voting going on, Republicans may not come into Saint Paul with their decision made.
Sorry you guys got aced out of an interesting experience.

Thanks Gopher, I'm not too disappointed over it, this whole election isn't cut and dried like so many in the past. Oh and you're right about St.Paul, sorry to confuse the 2.
Zeroday----I will definitely vote for McCain over Hillary, I just hope it doesnt come down to Hillary vs.Romney. -

Elsewhere I just cant support a Cult member for presidency, especially since the Mormon church has made similar statements like the WT does. It is almost as if they both have the same PR team.

Well McCain had a "Come to Jesus" moment when he tried that Amnesty CRAP and the Republican party almost stomped him out of existence he won't try that again...
