COs are very responsible in pushing the hype of the end talks. They did it before '75 extremely and still do. And the GB and headquarters pushes the COs to keep the circuit numbers up or they'll get sent back to special pioneering. So most COs over-sensationalize their talks. I remember years ago after a circuit overseer was with the congregation for the week, my dad and I were talking that here we were working all the time for the 'truth', and he was a congregation servant then and I was a pioneer, and the circuit overseer still made us feel like crap. I remember one circuit overseer having lunch with a group of us Bethelites one time and he said the first thing he was going to do in the new world was toss his bookbag away as far as he could. We all laughed as we all identified with that. Soon after he was assigned to Bethel, some years later he too left the organization.

I'm not afraid that there's going to be a punch bowl of Kool-aid at the KH...I stopped going already to the KH... but what I'm afraid of is that all of the loyal followers may get some detailed, specific instructions on creating this Kool-aid and giving it to their "apostate" or "lingering" family members... I could see that happening...
The way things are going, with the GB tightening up the R/F, there's all sorts of insane possibilities.
For example, one of the things that ALL JW's are waiting for is the end of the preaching work. Once God (a.k.a. the GB) orders that the preaching work is complete, who KNOWS what sort of "special work" all JW's will be involved in next... including providing that Kool-aid to EVERYONE...
I'm just saying... the possibility is there...

I suppose it's because my paradigm has shifted so, but nowadays when I hear the dubs talk about how soon the "end" is coming I tend to recall what I learned at the KH:
The "end of the system of things" that came in the first century was the end of the Jewish religious systems, according to dub teachings. They further teach that said end foreshadows the "end..." that is soon to come.
So, by their own teachings, what they eagerly await is the end of the the modern world's prevailing religious system. And JWs are clearly a part of today's religious system, whether they choose to see it or not. Therefore, they are predicting their own demise.

Now would be a better time than any other for the GB to cut their losses, declare the preaching work complete, and move on to Phase II of The Final Solution or Christ-knows-what.
Growth (especially in developed countries due to the proliferation of the Interet) is statistically at an all-time low if I'm not mistaken. They know that the primary source of JW growth is JWs reproducing themselves... so why put out an article discouraging Dubs from reproducing....
UNLESS...

Its really the same old self promoting propaganda that is re-spun with a different flavor.
Applying a psychosis of fear is an intensional motivational factor for creating and promoting the sale of their literature, which is their business and livelihood.
It also gives a basis of structuring and supporting the organizational power that is there. ie. CO, DO, GB and so on.
It's worked for them successfully now for close to 100 years, being that it has, why would they think about changing the formula.
You might think of it like a working commodity that they knew there was a market for. Russell knew that himself, which is why he was successful.

The truth is that the WTS. has and always will be a corrupt commercial venture that was deliberately orchestrated with the intension of utilizing and manipulating the belief in
the Bible to market its published literature. There is nothing spiritual or righteous about that is there, they indeed use mind control techniques on the people that get
interested in them and eventually get them to promote their sales. To me its just commercialism with a religious flare, thats all.
