    Jesus is God?

The Bible does say Jesus is God.

John 1:1 "… and the Word was a god."

John 20:28-29 "In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him: "Because you have seen me have you believed? Happy are those who do not see and yet believe.""
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” isaiah 9:6
In fact, the Christian teaching of the Trinity is Monotheistic, as they believe in only one God (represented by 3 persons). The Watchtower was polytheistic until 1954, as they said JWs were to worship Jesus and Jehovah. See http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/worshipjesus.htm The Trinity developed as a way to make Christianity monotheistic, as Jesus was described as God in the NT as was the Father.

We all just need to accept that she is going back. Its really no big deal, after all we're just a bunch of liars.

Reniaa, you brought out the old "Christmas is a lie" chestnut, come on, really???

Let me put Christmas in perspective for you...mmmm K??? Its a holiday to buy gifts for people you love, AND, its a time of year to reflect on Jesus, and the love he had for his fellow man. So what if the date is wrong? As pointed out by MANY Biblical scholars, it could be celebrating the CONCEPTION of Christ, instead of the actual birth? Also have you EVER celebrated your Birthday late? I know I have, because if it falls in the middle of a week, well, its more CONVENIENT to do it on a weekend. Well people get time off on Dec. 25th, so its CONVENIENT for them to have it then. But really Christmas is about being with family, friends, and sharing gifts with them.

Shoot, maybe you'll tell us next about how they were "right about 1914" (which teaching?)... Or perhaps, you'll harp more on the trinity... Maybe you can explain to us the "annointing" arrangement??? I heard its a "gut feeling", well I have gut feelings too, after I eat spinach or some spicy Mexican food. Did Jesus say "Come observe this cup?", or did he say, "Take this cup and drink"? You know that answer, to be a Christian, you need to be observing Jesus command to partake. I suggest you really DELVE into the Bible and do some research on the trinity. There are arguments for BOTH sides if you read enough scripture, and really stop reading the NWT, get yourself a real Bible, like King James, or a New American Bible.

Oh yeah, and how about this other piece... What about when the Governing Body allowed Mexicans to bribe the armed forces, but DID NOT allow the brothers in Malawai, the same thing???? Causing many deaths, rapes, etc. What about all the innocent people that have died due to blood transfusions and organ transplants, over the years due to flip flopping???

This organization SEEKS TO CONTROL YOU!!!! That is what they do. They let you "play in their sandbox" as long as you follow all their man made rules, like no beards, "dress clothes" for meetings, staying at their hotels for assemblies, the memorial, not questioning old doctrines that you've followed all your life, etc. Time and again, they claim to be "God's mouthpiece", but then spout false things. They ARE a false prophet.

I'm sorry you've had bad luck with men, but again, as I said in another of your "I'm going to be a witness again" threads... Its all about YOUR choices, and where YOU meet them, and how YOU act, and what YOU allow. You can choose to be celebate in this world if you choose, and you don't have to watch TV, it is done you know... Also YOU, don't have to listen to immoral music, YOU can change the station. YOU don't have to deal with drugs, if YOU don't hang out with druggies. If YOU choose to live in a bad area, and YOU, let men sleep with you, and YOU hang out with druggies, then YOU will have bad consequences.

NOW, if YOU, choose to go to college (and get a good job), find GOOD friends to hang out with (they are out there), FIND a hobby, and have those friends introduce you to a GOOD man (that they've known for many years), then chances are you'll live a good life.

I find I live a much richer life now than I did before because I have a wonderful group of friends, a beautiful, intelligent woman, a terrific hobby (playing in a blues band), and I have a church that I can identify with.

        WELL SAID BLUESBREAKER!

        Totally correct.

Reniaa can't accept her own responsibility in her failed relationships, she just blames "the world" and "men". She can't see that she PICKED the guy in the first place and allowed him into her life....allowed him to impregnate her. Of course none of this bad stuff is anything to do with Reniaa

I honestly feel sorry for anyone whose life is so bad that they think going back to the JWs would be a good thing.

I have typed several responses and deleted them. I did go back and read the previous
posts by Reniaa and the responses here to jog my memory. She has everything she
needs to make her mind clear what needs to be done.

Reniaa ia arguing from the closed-mind point-of-view. She thinks we are closed-minded
because we argue against WTS. She doesn't realize that we have already examined things
open-mindedly, and realized why we need to get out.

        Sass had the right response:

I think that guys, you don't understand one very crucial point.

Reniaa WANTS to go back. She wants to do the experience by herself. You can show plenty of billions claims to not coming back, she doesn't car. She will do it. It's a doomsday.

She's like a lot of JW who are expulsed or who left to have sex oustide the Watchtowerland. They feel guilty.

By a "coming-back" it's possible for them to understand after few months that it's not any more for them.

I met a friend last week. She left for a man in the "world". You know what happened then. She went back after 3 years. After few weeks of pleasure to have JW's friends and World's friends in the same time, she had an uncomfortable feeling when it was time to preach. It's the cognitive dissonance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance - (Cognitive dissonance is often associated with the tendency for people to resist information that they don't want to think about, because if they did it would create cognitive dissonance, and perhaps require them to act in ways that depart from their comfortable habits. They usually have at least partial awareness of the information, without having moved to full acceptance of it, and are thus in a state of denial about it)

One year after her reimprisonment, she felt strong enough to quit. She gave her letter. She's free now and happy.

I asked her : "Was it necessary for you to do this wasting journey ?" She said : "yes, it was"

I'm thinking she is looking for someone to feel religiously obligated to marry her . God observation with the ,it's everybody elses fault , attitude that leads to isolationism and an attitude of superiority like she can be better than somebody because she once again found the only true religion in the world . mmmmmm this psychoanalysis is getting pretty complicated ............... Maybe she needs to seek a professional .

I'm no going back to Jw's because they are like a comfortable pair of old shoes! but because...for me its about having a relationship with Jehovah as well as jesus, if another religion could offer me this then I would be tempted, certainly I have looked but they are all tied up with the 3-1 trinity.

There is also an element in "Prodical son" in how I feel, I have tried the grass on the other side and found it isn't greener in fact it's worse, I also felt a hole in my spiritiual life. Some on here have become atheists after leaving Jws finding like myself that you can't leave Jw's over teaching issues and join another church easily because they have similar teaching issues in different areas. Being an atheist is not an option for me because I do believe in God. If just believing in a nebulus God is enough then what is the point of the bible? this question is for those that say just believe in God and don't bother with an organisation.

The trinity is what we would call a logical construct but i find the logic behind it flawed, nowhere is trinity mentioned and nowhere is 3 -1 mentioned but for me the scriptures saying there is 'but one God' and 'jesus is God's son', and 'i am lower than the father' 'on his right hand' have stronger influence in persuading me Jehovah and Jesus are totally separate entities but there is a better thread on here exploring this issue...

        Hi bluesbreaker

Is Christmas an old chestnut? Not for me because I personally find it an act of worship that is one of the few left that society does whether it is to jesus or a weird white- bearded, red-coated old man that supposedly gives children presents is debatable though. You may argue that it isn't an act of worship but I think personally actions speak louder than words and the rituals of christmas and people attitude towards it reek of worship even if they don't realise it. This is not a bad thing if you like Christmas etc but personally i find i would only do it if I had completely decided not to be a JW because it would be for me making a definite choice in faith away from JW's.

All faiths come with things you either accept or don't and how you describe Christmas is exactly what you condemn me doing with JW's! I know the generation thing is flawed but i accept it because i think the bulk of their doctrines is right more than the wrong stuff and with Christmas you basically say "it doesn't matter it's not jesus birthday and has pagan origins but we recognise jesus" etc you can't see the hypocracy in accepting in one what we don't accept in another? I could use other examples beside Christmas but it's a good one that all can be shown to understand how we can accept a lie by justifying it, that we can't just accuse one religion of lying without applying to others too.

I dislike your saying it's my fault that I have been treated badly by men in my life, this was not very nice of you and beneath you if you actually want a logical debate and as well as being a weak arguement, because it's like saying if I have bad experiences in JW's it's Jw's fault but if I have bad experiences outside of JW's its my fault, that arguement just doesn't make any sense.

The above page should help you accept personal responsibility.

Also, I have to mention because you're accusing others of it...and can't see it in yourself...but can't even spell it.

Please read the page I put up above, or type in "personal responsibility" into google.

If you have bad experiences they are a reflection of your choices. This doesn't mean that the other person is innocent, it just means you need to accept your own responsibility.
