Cognizant,
That surely is better than death wouldn't you agree? That was what God's Law demands.

Cognizant,

Now you are playing games. First you present a scenario where you assume that the God of the bible exists. You even present reasons why you can't worship him...again as if he exists. Then in mid stream you use the fall back...he doesn't exist!
You can't change your premise in the middle of a line of reasoning. That isn't logical.
Sure he can. First he gave you a list of valid reasons why he can't worship God. Then he added one final reason to the list. He was just saving the best reason for last!

I don't know Perry. Have you ever given birth? I don't mind telling ya, at some points I was begging for death!
People like laws... it generally makes their life better...until they break them. Then the ones they elect to punish the laws punish them. God couldn't be elected because he is the creator. He is teh default Judge.
All he could do is create a method by which people could be pardoned.....but they could never be declared non-guilty by means of their own righteousness. He did this not because he had to, not because it was necessary in some way. But, because he wanted to.
Of course, he could have simply became a slave to man and his whims.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
It's called consequences. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh, I see, you are saying some women deserve to be raped as consequences for their actions. What actions would those be? Wearing their robes above their ankles?
We just had two pregnancies in the last 3 years. Wife wore a size zero when we met. Last baby was over nine pounds. Had both natural. She wants to cut my... uh for rme to get a vascetomy.
Perry, let me put it this way. I'm expressing my opinion. I have no desire to get into logic with a believer, because belief in god isn't about logic.
My opinion is that god does not exist. Every post I've made in this thread has been consistent with that. When we speak of imaginary characters, it is not uncharacteristic to speak of them as if they exist--fiction if you will. Speaking of them in this way does not create a logical gap with the knowledge that they do not exist. If I say the man in the moon is a sick bastard, that does not mean I believe the man in the moon really exists, nor would a reasonable person think I'm making the claim that the man in the moon exists.

Don't you just love the way some men claim to be pregnant with their wives? Too bad they can't share the pain, too!
Cognizant,
God began acting amongst his enimies....that's us. When he withdrew his blessing, the fallen world took it's course in this case. We must never forget that we have broken God's laws, and are guaranteed to do so because of the sin nature. Whatever God decides short of immediate death is a stay of his righteous hand.

Amen to that. But we did get the work by the sweat of our brow thingy.
Hey, women live longer!
