Hi People,,,what i mean about Personal Decision is that, if someone wants to believe what they really want, what will the problem be, so why do some people have to question their beliefs and their type of life. wouldn't it be better if we try to respect everyones life, no meter how they do it. hope that you all get my point... Enjoy

I think that's the view most people here take, but the problem starts when someone's personal beliefs begin to harm those around them.

I dont care what other people believe as long as they DONT IMPOSE IT ON OTHERS. Yknow? Like dont tell me that my religion is false. Dont tell me you have God in your pocket and I worship Satan. Dont come to my door and tell me Im not the "right" kind of Christian and God doesnt accept my worship or prayers. Dont tell me that you cant be my friend unless I believe the same as you do. Dont shun me when I decide your religion isnt what my spiritual needs requires of me and I leave. Dont break up my family. Dont tell me I cant question what is told to me. Dont change your teachings constantly and tell me God is the one changing his mind about things....

Then we're cool. So yeah...go believe what you want to but keep it to yourself. :)

why do some people have to question their beliefs and their type of life

This is a forum primarily made up of former Jehovah's Witnesses.
Jehovah's Witnesses (JW's) as an organization (WTS) don't let individual JW's
believe "what they really want." Most of our discussions are revolving around
    that problem.

Otherwise, many threads here are asking for opinions. Christians want to know
how people can stop believing. Former believers want to know how others can
stay in religion after such a horrible experience with the JW's. Things like that.

In your daily life, what you say is generally true. If someone believes something
that is not harming themself or others, it can be personal and others should not
attack or belittle the belief. Even there, we all have different thoughts on what
beliefs cause or do not cause "harm." Hence, questioning starts.

    I learned that I was in a mind-control cult for 20 years. I don't judge others now.
If I was so wrong, who am I to question the beliefs of others. But I will question
or aid others to think for themselves if they are mind prisoners of a cult.

Everyone is intitled to believe what they will. It's when others' point and say you're wrong, we're right and their beliefs actually have negativity in them (pick on JWs here, because let's be honest THAT is what happens) then you've got a right to defend yourself if you want too and to disagree with the one pointing.

    First of all welcome purealb.

I don't know where you are coming from on this.

    1) You are someone who wants to knock JW's for criticising others beliefs. In that case you've come to the wrong place, because most of us are free thinking ex jw's.

    or

    2) You are a JW who wants to criticise ex jw's for knocking the society. In that case we feel like you in that no one has the right to impose on another persons beliefs.

Anyhow welcome and i hope you enjoy this board.

whether u ar or not a JWs, i guess everyone should agree there are standards in life, and the fact is that when someone its not happy they express everything, i do not think that someone left the truth because they did not do something which did not meet the standards,

The "truth" with regard to the JWs version of it is just that...its their OWN pharisaic twist on what is required to be acceptable to God and those rules include NEVER breaking, questioning or discussing THEIR RULES. There are so many ways to fall out of favor as a JW they cant even all be listed. God and Org are not the same entity though we were always taught one is concentric and inseparable with the other.

Of course when a person decides to leave the JWs and they say themselves there is "no good nor acceptable reason to ever leave Jehovahs Organization", there reasons for doing so are of no importance nor concern. I can slam a door behind you if you leave the hall for murdering 12 people and screwing the POs wife as I can for you deciding to smoke a cigarette. Closed is closed.

Most of us our SIN is....thinking.
