God won't let him. Why would God let someone undo his famines, earthquakes, pestilences, wars, floods, atrocities, false messengers and profits and favorite God's pastime, genocides?
Why would God give anyone else, including Satan permission to spoil his fun?

Rather silly, given that most who believe would be on Jehovah's side, and therefore your question would be irrelevant to them. It is normally only the unbelievers who point out that even in the bible, the (fictitious) character Jehovah behaves far worse than the (fictitious) character Satan, even though the former is supposed to be good and the latter evil. The reason for this is that the ancient Jews' idea of good and evil was rather different to ours (well, to mine anyway). They seem to have held to the principle that "might makes right" and that Satan was wrong not because of anything he did that was inherently harmful, but merely because he disobeyed YHWH. Adam and Eve's "sin" was of the same sort, as were the majority of the most severely punished transgressions in the bible.
But to answer your original question, what Satan did (according to the mythology) was to give humans the freedom to think for themselves, to make their own decisions, and though YHWH tried to thwart them at every turn, expelling the first humans from their home, punishing them with disease and strife, drowning almost everybody in the world, confusing their languages etc. (and that's just the first few pages) humans have thrived. It is the spirit of Satan, the spirit that is not afraid to try new things, to question authority, that is humanity's greatest asset.

I don't know who is blaming Jehovah for everything; with that being said the Bible makes the claim that He is all powerful. It does not make that claim of anyone else. If the Bible were correct (and I think many of us here do not accept that) then Jehovah would have a lot to answer for. If I am all powerful and I am saying I love humanity as my own children, then I would not stand by and watch them suffer. I would use my power to correct their problems.
As far as Satan-I don't know who you are referring to that thinks he is a good guy. Personally, I do not percieve reality in the outline of 'good vs. evil', 'god vs. satan', 'the rebel forces vs. the dark side'.....
There are many contributing factors to the good and bad in the world and it's not all someone's fault-god or satan. Some things just are.
