Oh I love 80's music. I loved Blondie!
And Miami Vice!!!! AND OMG>> PRINCE!!!!!!!
Prince, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Heart (They Go Crazy on You), U2 (With or Without You *fantastic*), Loose Ends, Sting, Cameo, Madonna, Sade, Peabo Bryson, Celine Dion ...so many...
Celine Dion - If You Asked Me To
Prince - You Got The Look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JB8sSDeg1w&feature=related
These are not what I think are the best songs, but when I hear each song I am immediately transported to that year.
1980 ... Fred Knobloch - Why Not Me (with a special nod to Rupert Holmes - Him)
1981 ... Smokey Robinson - Being With You
1982 ... A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran (So Far Away); tied with Paul McCartney - Take It Away
1983 ... this is a killer; I've got half a dozen I love. But I'll go with Modern English - I Melt With You (although "Billie Jean" is a great video)
1984 ... Cars - Drive (but the video has got to be Alan Parsons Project - Don't Answer Me)
1985 ... Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World
1986 ... Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls (although the video to Addicted to Love made me glad I was a guy)
1987 ... U2 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (came at a very difficult time in my life)
1988 ... George Michael - Father Figure (great video)
1989 ... Howard Jones - Everlasting Love (it was a bad year and I needed something silly)

Richard Marx
I was a strange boy! before I got the "Truth" Not that it helped much.
U2 - I could listen to Trip Through Your Wires over and over.
Duran Duran - I liked the more obscure songs like The Chauffeur. Didn't care for the overplayed songs like Reflex and Wild Boys.
Depeche Mode - Still one of my all time favorite bands
They Might Be Giants - They are still an awesome band.
Human League - These are the Days
Ministry (in the 80's) before they turned loud and hostile
Almost forgot INXS! Love them. Still listen to their CD's.
It seems no one hit my all-time favorite from the 80s:
USA for Africa--We Are The World.
Also: Men at Work with Down Under, Mike + The Mechanics with All I Need is a Miracle, and Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson with Say Say Say.
Good Thread, Mr. Flipper....
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - I Love Rock 'N' Roll
