The pilots were devout christians who felt they would be rewarded in heaven if successful. That's chrisitanity.
With all due respect, my understanding is that fundamentalist Muslims believe that if killed in battle, (i.e., suicide) one is immediately transferred into heaven. While there is a similarity to Christianity, there is a somewhat different belief system in place. Would you not agree?
Additionally, I found this:
Many kamikaze pilots offered themselves as volunteers for the mission. They were usually very young, between 18 and 24 years old. Their belief was that dying when striking the enemies of Japan and the Emperor down was a very honorable death. This principle was traditional since the days of the samurai, and gave great importance to the sense of duty and obedience. This idea was called Giri ("Right Reason"), and was part of the code of conduct of the Japanese warriors since the Middle Ages, the Bushido. Many young men sacrificed themselves by their free will because these beliefs and their love for the home land were the most important things for them.
Again there is a similarity to the idea of Christian self-sacrifice, although I do not think Jesus Christ taught the idea in connection with the state, or in connection with a king.
The difference being Christians believe their "God of Love" will do the destroying, Islam (radical) believe they are doing the destroying in Gods name...
It comes to the same thing doesn't it? Most religions teach that only their particular franchise is the one, "true accepted" religion, the only one that God accepts. This has been true throughout human history. It's part of the spin that religious leaders use to get people to buy into their message, give money and time and perpetuate the franchise. Little difference between that and a McDonald's franchise frankly.
You're talking the difference between McDonald's and Burger King. As if one were superior to the other. When both are fatty, greasy, and when eaten exclusively, bad for your health.
Look at the history of Christianity. A thousand years ago, if the Crusaders had AK-47s, or tanks, or explosives, or (God forbid) nuclear weapons, would they have behaved any differently than Muslim fundamentalists do now?
I have a better idea why don't you shove it up your ass...
Well that's an intelligent response. Whatcha got next? Gonna drop the big F bomb to prove your point?
