I feel I must comment on this issue as it seems the point may be being confused with the real issues at stake. First, child molestation is a crime which in any group, organization, or church must be treated as such. All areas of society have problems with people who break the law, but when a particular organization purposefully makes policy that allows children to be molested then something has to be done. If JW's did not have a problem in this area, I would probably still be serving as an elder today. The WT knows their policy, allows children to be hurt and willfully refuses to do anything about it. In my original letter I expressed the opinion that one out of three witness children will be molested in a JW setting. Why do I come to that conclusion? Due to WT policy which is unlike any policy by any organization that claims to work in the interests of people. Jehovah's Witnesses are unique they appear on the surface to be so righteous yet underneath support wicked acts.
WT policy says the following:
1. Child molesters are to be investigated first by untrained elders and are often not reported to police.
2. The JW rule for establishing charges are at the mouth of two witnesses when the pedophile denies the charge which happens 98% of the time.
3. Pedophiles are reappointed to positions of responsibility after a few years pass. While this is denied in the WT it is confirmed by BOE letters.
4. Jehovah's Witness pedophiles are required to participate in the door to door ministry on an unknowing public.I ask anyone to find any organization on the face of the earth that has a policy for child molesters within 500 miles of WT policy. The worst part this is all documented in writing by WT articles and BOE letters. This is not a assumption it is a simple hard copy fact.
It is my feeling many Jehovah's Witnesses do not know this policy and are afraid to question it due to the control the organization holds over them. Brothers and sisters have been disfellowshipped for questioning this policy. Much like the Nazi's of Germany they simply follow orders ignoring the result of their supporting the organization without question. Jehovah's Witnesses need to be ashamed for not standing up against a policy that hurts children. If they suffer for not taking that stand then whose fault is it? As I explained to my son, if you were to see a murder and the murderer's family did not want you to tell anyone, would that make it OK? What about the victim and their family? If the murderer has to suffer and go to jail is it your fault for turning him in? No, you did right, the criminal and his family suffer as a result of his actions.
So to with Jehovah's Witnesses they should suffer for allowing this to happen. If they do not understand the problem, shame on them for letting it happen due to ignorance. If they knew about it, then greater shame and deserving of whatever suffering they experience for their inaction.
As I have stated from the beginning, I have no axe to grind against WT. I am sure it will go on as any other religion. As it currently stands they are a religion that promotes and protects pedophiles while allowing children to suffer in silence. If WT changes policy they will be a better religion and a much safer place for children.
The efforts of all silentlambs is to speak up so children will be protected and for those who suffer in silence to let them know they have the right to tell who did this to them and put them in jail. Not one more child should be molested due to WT policy. I believe our goal is a positive one, it builds people up, makes them strong enough to take the necessary steps for healing, and stand up for what is right.
If Jehovah's Witnesses happen to suffer due to that, perhaps they can learn from the silentlambs a message about honor, integrity and what true courage is all about. As they suffer they will have to face the facts that the leadership of the WT organization are lying hypocrites who willfully allow children to be hurt to protect their money and assets. Will they throw these wicked men out? Time will tell, the end result will be determined by the efforts of better men who stand up to protect children.

hi outlaw
i will be breif since im reading silentlambs sight.
what i meant was this
we read stuff about the wtbts. at first its enough
then we read more, we buy all the books, we read the websites. looking for newer and
more interesting things we didnt know before.eventually we learn all the wtbts dirty secrets, and we still want more. so along comes this new one.
this is like needing something new to keep us angry. (hence the analogy to porn. allways searching for something new.)
after reading even a bit of silentlambs i dont dought his sincerity.
but i am sick of having every decision the wtbts make disected and probed for its evil intent.
i have tried to make it clear that i hate abuse of children.i have tried to be polite about my concerns when i wrote this thread.
but i do not beleive that the wtbts are full of evil perverts trying to avoid the issue.
i read testimonies from abused people who say the watchtower ruined thier lives, but i would like to find out what
safegaurds are used in preventing fraudulent claims.sadly it seems you cant mention this subject without first agreeing with everybody else on the matter.
i was in the "truth" for 25 years, along with my family.
we never heard of abusers in the cong.
i know elders who have not dealt with the matter ever.
you and others are correct. i was wrong to question motives. as wrong as they were to question mine.
abusers should in my opinion be killed. people who hide them should face a simalar punishment.
but what about the people who latch on to this subject because it gives them another stick to beat the witnesses with.
regards
jo
ps thank you for wrinting silentlambs i feel better about it now. i was not trying to mitigate the evil that these people do.
i was trying to question our headlong rush to attack the watchtower.you dont seem to be doing that and if you took offence im sorry.

Josephus,
I think I understand where you are coming from on this isse, but it was unfortunate that chose the issue of child-abuse to illustrate your point.
Why not try again with a less emotive example.
Best regards - HS

howdy jo,
Whew! Glad I held back answering till the waters calmed. Nice to meet you. My experience with my daughter being molested is on file with Silentlambs. It's ligitimate. How do you know? You don't.
And that's a valid point you made. We're strangers to each other here. To say that all xjw's are truthful is like saying all jw's are truthful. Totally impossible to prove - thus necessary to question, read, argue, reason. Only the gullible take all at face value - that's how some of us became jw's in the first place.
But I do come from a congregation where we have a brother sitting in jail for molesting his sweet step daughter. And my brother has admitted to raping my daughter; however, the ms was never spoken to by the elders concerning his molesting my daughter. An elder from another congregation spoke with a couple of other adult survivors - he was raped by a teacher at school, and his elder dad knew. All kept quiet - why? "No need to talk publicly about 'such things.' " He's been an alcoholic for decades, in/out of therapy.
These things are rarely spoken about above a private whisper. Why? We're taught not to bring reproach of any kind on "Jehovah's People. - Jehovah's Congregation." And we love Jehovah, and this is "only imperfect men" raping our children - so we remain silent - for many reasons. One being, we're told to - at least by my PO, "That would be slander, sister."
But I wasn't raped by a jw - I was raped by my atheistic father and my Catholic mother knew it all along. I agree with you, as others have, this is an issue of children -- not just jw children.
But isn't there a scripture that speaks of cleaning your own house first? Of getting the rafter out of your own eye first? Well, we are/were jw's - we're trying to clean our own house because our own children are involved.

hi waiting
thank you for replying.
i guess thats what i get for giving analogies without explaining them!!!
what you said about removing straws from our own eyes is valid. i never thought that way.
i will give it more thought.in future all my posts will be studied by a crack board of logical philosiphers to avoid trouble.
it allso seems that silentlambs does offer help to any victims of abuse.
so i stand corrected.
i wish the subject was not so tabboo. i got a call to "shut the fuck up" from a guy posting
in pakistan. this country practically abuses women and children as a sport.yet as we talk about thousands in the "truth" being abused, hundreds of thousands are abused
by violence, and arranged marriage of children there.i will try to moderate my thoughts in future.
thanks again

yanno here's something else that zoomed right over your head josephus.
You took a serious, life threatening issue, wrote one of the most insensitive, uninformed and ignorant posts about it.And now whinge when posters reacted accordingly to what you wrote .
teejay 's righteous indignation most likely spoke for a few us.It did for me anyway. You don't need logical philisophical guidance to address the issue, just some education, sensitivity and a broader worldview on this issue. And I believe that the responses you got show this isn't taboo.People will share and tell you experiences and knowledge of this that you don't seem to be aware of.Jesse jackson,Jim bakker and Jimmy swaggart have written an impressive new book-it's called"Ministers do More Than Lay People"
