josephus was caught in the act saying...

in future all my posts will be studied by a crack board of logical philosiphers to avoid trouble.
Dude, you just had the luck to hit a sensitive button that many ex-JW's share. When you manage to open an emotional can of worms, all kinds of weird things are going to crawl out of there. Also please remember that many of us still have a lot of anger left towards the Borganization and yes, if there is something that triggers that anger, mental vomit pours forth.

It is kind of funny in that we collectively as a species hold our worst wrath towards other groups of people similar to us. Few of us in here get emotional about what goes on in the Catholic Church for instance and we don't normally conspire to roast priests. They are just another "religion" as far as that goes. The Witnesses however is what we came out of. Many of us are similar to Witnesses in that we hold the values of truth, justice, love, and so forth in high regards. Thus when we see how we were betrayed, well you know it is a sore spot.

So, please excuse my behavior when it comes to blasting the Society, and would you mind passing me some more logical cluster bombs I can drop on Bethel?

    Hello Julie,

Nice to meet you. No, this is not he. I did not post to H20 though if you have anything good to say about the person who did, then I am certainly not beyond stealing his praise!

    Best regards - HS

    Jesephus,

I've been thinking about this and I don't want you to misunderstand me.

You said,to slag me off and say im a as bad as abusers is fucking lousy thing so say.

Please go back and read my post.I never said that's how I felt about you.
I was saying that if you were completly informed on the facts and still held to those views I would feel that way about you.
I truly have felt from the start that you weren't seeing the whole picture.
I was upset when you seemed to be stubornly holding your ground.
I want peace and I wanted to say that it means alot to me that you are reading the silentlambs site.
    That speaks volumes to me.
    There's mountains of info there.
I hope after reading it you will understand why we were so upset with you.

    Hello again, Josephus.

I'm glad that I responded to you when and in the way that I did earlier. Personally, I think I spoke for many people, not the least of them defenseless children whose voices have been muted by a flawed watchtower policy and the duplicity of evil men and women, some of whom use and abuse these little ones to evil ends.

That being said, I'd like to thank you for your latest contribution to this thread of your creation. Many of us former/ex/anti- JWs have serious and very reasonable grievances against the Society. The problem, YOUR problem, is that you picked a touchy subject to make a valid point. I make no apology for what I said to you before. I think you, perhaps without meaning to, stepped on some very sensitive toes. Your ignorance of that fact was/is little excuse for those you may have injured, no matter how innocently.

At least now I have a better understanding of where you're coming from. I think. I agree with what I think is your point: the WTS is no worse than many other organizations, whether they are of the religious variety or otherwise, and individual JWs are nice people who are basically unaware of the heinous policy of the leadership. If I have you figured properly, I couldn't agree with you more than I do now.

What you may not be taking into full consideration is that when you invoke "God" and "religion" into the mix amidst a collection of people that believes it ALL, you launch into a whole 'nother set of parameters. Add innocent, wide-eyed, hope-filled "children" to the equation, and you have a very volatile blend of issues that are greater than just a 'really cool topic for discussion.'

I meant no harm in what I said before. I don't think you did, either.

    Peace,
    tj

    Howdy Jo,

See? This subject can be talked about - in some ways. I agree with this statement, in part:

i wish the subject was not so tabboo. i got a call to "shut the fuck up" from a guy posting in pakistan. this country practically abuses women and children as a sport. - jo
As Tina brought out, the subject "isn't taboo." However, certain parts of it are mighty close - such as how does one determine if all accounts are totally accurate, or have no basis at all? On the web, there's no way of determining complete accuracy. Professionals working face-to-face with victims have the same problem, yet they're supposed to be trained and have the advantage of eye contact, body language, emotions, medical tests, etc. We have none of those communications.

There are cases of false accusations, true cases which were falsified because there was no evidence, and true cases which are added to for emphasis. And then there are true cases which are pathetically accurate and true. How does one tell? Do we buy every account because it happened to a jw? Only worldly kids can turn in false accounts? Only worldly people remember things with less than 100% accuracy?

Do we take the stand that every account, even second-hand, is totally accurate? Then it would seem that the False Memory Foundation is, indeed, in a lot of trouble - and 100% liars.

Sooooo, a Pakistan guy told you to "shut the fuck up!" Go figure, they're such free thinkers....

Hope you stick around, and visit other websites. Lots of information to digest. Child rape & abuse can be discussed, but emotions run high, as can the insults.

    JW think they = Purity
    JW abuser molests child.
JW allow action if two JW's witness it.
Abuser denies, which = one JW witness(the child)
No other witnesses=child not being believed.
JW molester=free to do it again.

It's their policy, not the fact that abuse is a world-wide affliction, that's the issue jeff.

    Hi Ashi,

That is the best, most-concise statement I've seen. Thanks! Not that SilentLambs wasn't very eloquent and well stated, it was.

    Thanks,
    Pat
