The Watchtower organization enforces a "one size fits all" regimen of activity which ignores the unique and diverse needs of its varied members.
I have noted that many large churches have varied programs and activities which contribute to the spiritual refreshment of its members without compromising the central theme of their Christian faith. For example, many provide specific educational programs for children and teenagers. They also have Biblically-based support groups for single mothers, those suffering from depression, and other issues.
Other churches also have outlets for people’s creativity and desire for charitable activities. There are groups of musicians which produce music for the services, outings organized to outreach to the homeless, and other activities.
The Watchtower organization micro-manages every detail of the Witnesses worship activity from Brooklyn. Everything is pre-canned, pre-planned, and pre-packaged so as to maintain absolute unanimity of thought. Even all of the music is pre-recorded. The organization is predominantly focused on distributing literature, and is obsessed with numerical figures as the dominant measurement of people’s spirituality. It is no wonder so many of the youth are leaving.

MINIMUS- Even more monotonous than being a JW was listening to mind numbing speakers who had NO emphasis in their voice tones ! I often fell asleep during some of the " dull boys " talks ; or if I wasn't sleepy, I'd get pissed off and want to run up on the stage , grab the microphone and just say, " Let ME give the damned talk- at least I'll use emphasis, and won't put everybody to sleep ! " It would have been useless though ; the elders had already seen I was NOT a kiss-a$$ artist so they would have carried me off the stage kicking and screaming ! As time went by , because of my non-conformity and independence - I already had a big bullseye on my back ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I agree Outlaw - Why hang around here solace? Why not rush back to the kh and get reinstated sounds like it was a wonderful experience for you. It has nothing to do with your difference of opinion, why be here if you love it so much? What's up?
To answer the question, even on the most boring days of my current life it's better than being a JW. There was nothing, zero, nadda interesting or variable about those mind numbing, butt numbing meetings and fs.

Note to Bethel, and to local elders: If they would leave people the hell alone, it wouldn't be so bad.

I am an ex - jw who cannot live up to the standards they desire, and have problems with facets of the bOrg....
just because i had a GREAT experience whilst i was IN, doesnt mean i deserve labeling... I am who i am, just because i am not like you, doesnt make my experience less worthy. -
