Wow making an A$$ out of yourself is getting expensive....
I remember the good ole days when we could make a$$es out of the whole car group for less than a dollar...but that was back when the magazines was offered at .25 a pop

Ok John, what prompts you to ask this question??

My guess is...it has to do with the price of gas.

    Hey Priest.....I've got a $5 bill....

My guess it has something to do with JD going to the movie's. He said on another thread his ticket was $4.00. Wish they were that cheap here!

why will some people make complete asses of themselves over $4?

Its easy when you are paying $4.00 each for two containers of premium dog food, 1 gallon of gas and a gallon of milk and you get home and the milk is sour.

Yep at this point I will make an ass of myself returning the milk if need be! Or any other substandard food purchase I made.

    r.

Well, if it will shed some light on my post, I'll tell you what prompted it. I came in to work today--normal, typical day. Well, anyway I get a call to go back and help a customer find a mailbox--he couldn't find it. I go back there, and it's a typical older man--mid fifties, and what appeared to be a grandkid. He seemed all right, neither likeable nor outright perturbing. He was shifting his feet left and right, looking a little anoyed.

So, anyway, he points to the display up high and says "I want that mail box." I said ok, and looked for it, finding it in a few seconds. Here's the thing, the price on the display up high was $19.97, but the price on the box on the shelf was $23.97, or $4 difference. I see what had happened and when he inquired why the prices were different, I answered that the tag on the display was older and it was missed when the price was changed. No big deal right? He's going to get it for the price on the display. Who cares, right?

Well, he cuts me off as soon as I say the price tag on the display is old, and says "I"m paying that price right there!" almost stomping his feet and acting like he'd missed his last few doses of bowel relaxers. I just smirk and start laughing. He then gets mad and says "I'll take it up with the manager! I want it for $19.97! I'll take it up with the manager! Get the manager over here!" Not five seconds gone by and he's threatening to get the manager over there, like I give a rip anyway, as if he's caught me doing something bad and he's going to punish me.

Anyway, I kept smirking a few seconds, and this developed into a full chuckle while I'm saying "All right all right" and he's going "I'll take it up with the manager! I'm getting it for $19.97." It's almost as if he wanted me to argue with him. Now, recall that he had rudely interupted me before I had a chance to tell him he would get it at the lower price, and I had already decided he would get it at the lower price. Now I'm thinking that I don't want to give him anything. I considered telling him we were out of stock, but aquiesced quickly and gave him his precious $4 markdown. I was just increduous. If I hadn't been in such a good mood, I would have kicked him out of the store. ;-)
