Pioneer hours change

The old light used the story about the jews walking around jericho as a pic of how the jw preaching work would go. Once around the city for 6 days, then 7 times around on the last day, before the walls toppled. Supposed to show how, as the end of the world came closer, jws would be ever more door to door occupied, that they would all be doing practically nothing but door to door preaching. Wonder if the new reality will cause more cognitive dissonence among the mature rank and file members.

I remember when it was 100 hours a month in the late 60's early 70s.

When I was a pioneer it was 90 hours and it was tough to get and
earn enough money to live, even though I was living at home.

I worked two jobs, a bank teller and a janitor.

Between Bethel and Pioneering I put in 2 years of full time service.

Was it a waste of time?

No. I learned a lot about myself and a lot about people during those
2 years. I also learned a lot about the Bible and the Society. I learned
enough that I left the organization.

Regular pioneers are their ever-so-faithful ones that will virtually never leave
and never dare to question them. I know plenty eventually do, but the vast
majority think they are on their special mission from God.

But, like the rest of the dubs, they are placing literature and not putting
anything in the donation box. They probably cost the organization a ton
of money. They feel that they are working so hard for Jehovah that their
contribution is physical instead of monetary. They give what they get from
the field, but let's face it- that is not that much.

Reducing their hours is a way to keep them going as pioneers. They will
keep refraining from questioning their God's organization. They will be able
to put pressure on high school grads and housewives to join them in their
lifesaving mission from God. BUT they will only be out there 50 hours so
they can place less literature. That will save the organization money if the
pioneers continue to put the same money in the donation box, but order
    less literature for the field.

Every bit of news out of the Borg is about moving less literature. I imagine
their warehouses are running on empty now and they just don't have enough
    income to fill them up.

This is good news and bad news.

Still too high. Why? The optimal level of any activity is when the marginal cost of doing the next unit of it starts to exceed the marginal benefit. And in field circus, that is crossed at a level below zero. Meaning, right from the first door, deadweight has already occurred.

Is this just an unfounded rumor or is there some proof of this?

Man, I can't believe this. All of the time I wasted back in the day. Just out of school putting in 90 hours a month... Why didn't they lower it then? Oh well, I should just be glad that I don't waste time and gas now!
