JG,
I have got to tell you, sincerely, the tone of your posts is very inconsistent.
You talk about atheists on this board and their attempts to convert you, but I think that they are only responding to the tone of your initial posts. I read this thread from beginning to end, and have read your other posts in the past, and for someone who doesnt "care" about evolution you sure dont mind giving your opinion on it and what should and shouldnt be taught to children in class! And also, your posts reflect that you really dont know what evolution is. And from that, I can actually see where you are coming from. If evolution is what you think it is, then I wouldnt believe it either.
Let me ask you this, do you have any problem with Physics classes? Or archealogy? Because what is learned in those classes is also going to directly contradict what someone would literally interpret from the bible.
And you can rest easy, no one in a biology class is going to teach that we came from "apes, fish, ameoba or anything else". What they are going to teach is that we, and all organisms on Earth, biologically diversify ourselves on a populational level due to pressures in our environment, and if we as species dont do that we go extinct. Its really that simple. And regardless of what creationists want to think, the evidence that this is exactly what is going on is 100% overwhelming. And I say this to you as a former creationist who was far more adamant then you have been here in this thread.
Why would it take God himself to tell you evolution was true just so you would believe it? Just because you have chosen to interpret the creation record in Genesis literally?
