    Undercover, that was perfect!

Oompa! What about the term Abba Father! Jesus and his followers would call God "ABBA FATHER!" This is a term of endearment and trust when crying out to God for those followers of Jesus. The Watchtower fails to address this in that article.

I have gotten many pm's (some angry) from this thread and have sent many my research and and info to and from WT....this was one of the pm's to me and my reply (which has some additional info in it)...it struck me as funny because i felt the exact same way...I was like "geeze, I know we got a ton of things wrong it the past, but please tell me we did not change the bible"........

oompa, Darn if you are right I am going to be really mad! That is the worst thing. I know they profamed the name by the Finished Mystery book and false images of Ra on it. and the entire Pyrimidology crap like God would use the pyramids for divine light!

But if we were just hood winked into a false use of God's name which I still use! more so YHWH!

    oompa replies:

first, you can check out the DIVINE NAME brochure...WT has said many times nobody really knows how to pronounce YHWH since the jews did not write down vowels and we don know for sure what they were....they have said that they felt yahweh or yehowah were probably closer but since people were so familiar jehovah as gods name they used that instead.

what bothered me about reading that in the forward of the 1950 NWT was that HEY!...shouldn't we teach things as accurately as possible?...what if we had spent those 100 billion hours in service since then letting people know his name was not jehovah, but one of the other two?...and ya...some catholic monk dude name Martini invented the spelling "JEHOVAH "for gods name.

but make no mistake about this FACT...THE DIVINE NAME IN ANY FORM OR SHAPE OR WAY NEVER APPEARS ONCE...NOT ONE TIME...IN ANY ANCIENT COPY OF THE CHRISTIAN GREEK SCRIPTURES!...WT even says we know they are accurate because the oldest copy found was written only 25 years after John died...and that nothing could have been changed so quickly or it would have made a fuss since changes usually sneak in over hundreds of years.......

have i sent you my letter and all about this?......my whole process of writing HQ and the weird and secret way info was given me just creeped me out...btw...my elders begged me THREE times "we implore you not to speak of this matter with the other friends in the hall"...and of course they would not even give me a copy of the WT response because they said "it could be used by apostates"!....i asked them how the hell apostates could use it against WT if it is the real truth about the bible? The whole process turned out to be my deal breaker.

also last year in the km there was an article about how jw's should only use WT sourced material to study and how they do not endorse brothers meeting in their own study groups, and learn some hebrew or greek in order to check the accuracy of the NWT!!!....WTF?...if 50 groups did tons of research and study, and learn the languages...they could only come to one conclusion if the NWT is accurate!...their study would verify the accuracy...and if they did find an error of some sort and showed WT...they should be happy to find more accuracy in gods word and make a change........oh, but that would take humility and being to admit they can be flat out wrong......

A J-Dub from another forum just posted this:

Jesus said to, "Worship Jehovah your God and serve him only." Is it sound reasoning to obey Jesus?

Interesting because I do not think anyone knows what Jesus looks like! As far a YHWH I think it was in the Old Testament and the Hebrew new the name even after the exile.

I just watched somthing on PBC Secrets of the Bible very interesting! Yes YHWH was the Hebrew LORD of the Old Testament!

As far as the New Testament goes I am not too sure! perhaps they did change LORD to Lord and that where it is confusing.

Maybe I am still hanging on to a WTBTS doctrine!
