I married the first time for love. The second time it was JW coercion and a bit of security. But if I'd have had a regular dating pool, I'd never have married my second husband. Andy was never my husband, but with him it was love and not security. I wonder if there will be another in the future.

I have to disagree with your sister. I married for love. And I would have happily lived in struggle to make ends meet, if he had been respectful and helpful. I will say the second time around, that if this absolutely wonderful man had been a pauper without any ambition, I would have reconsidered. But..........if he were that, I doubt he would have been as intelligent, thoughtful, conscientious and wonderful as he is.

Let me guess, your sister is a sister? Maybe that's true among JW's. There aren't enough men to date to marry for love. There are some lucky enough to find love, like Caliber and Hope4Others, but there are just as many who settle because there is just no one to choose from and this goes for brothers for sisters as well.

And, women who leave a guy for immediate security (even if you are on you're way up) i.e try to be mercenary and trade up when they have a "love" relationship for a security relationship, often end up calling the guy they left for years/ try cheating on the new guy w/ old guy, ask to come back, etc. With some small changes, it's the same w/ men.

This scenario is the same as one posted a few days ago. Are there some gold digging bitches out there? Yes. Are there equally shallow men who look for...........whatever? Yes. Is it the norm? I think not.

I was one of the lucky ones..I married because I was pregnant...stayed married and found love and security..married for 45 years when he passed away and took my heart with him...
Today I have to say I find men that are somewhere in the middle more attractive mentally and physically.
Not enough money and they are angry men...too much and they are pompous men..I like the middle road.
